    Seemed like a great shoe, but also seemed to run smaller than our other merrells. Ordered A size up from the size my daughter is currently wearing and yet still too small. Will be returning for another full size up!

    Great hiking shoe for my kindergartener. I bought one size up according to reviews; recommended. The size 13 (currently) works well for my 11.5-size son, with thick wool hiking socks. The laces are awkwardly long, but I suppose that's better than the converse. The shoes seem sturdy to last through a couple of hand-me-downs; in my estimation, that makes the price right.

    I was very disappointed with these shoes. I have bought Merrell's for the past 3 yr for my son, and I've never had a problem with them. This pair split open on the top after less than 2 months of wear. The fabric completely ripped open! Unfortunatley I am unabe to return them at this point. I think they should have lasted longer than 2 months. It may be a mfg defect, but if that is the case I think the mfg should honor an exchange.

    I have had these boots for a week of snowy hikes with the dog and they are great so far. They are actually waterproof which is necessary for winter in western NY. I usually take a women's 7.5 wide but there were no wide women's waterproof boots to be found. Luckily the big boys (youth) size 6 ran wider so I tried them on in a store and then ordered these. I was surprised by how light they feel on my feet and I like the extra support of the mid ankle style, especially with our icy and snowy conditions.There isn't much cushion in the sole but this was an easy fix with the addition of some insoles that I already had. The arch support isn't as much as some people might need but it is enough for my 10-15 miles a week.

    For $26 on Amazon, I'm thrilled with this purchase. Waterproof, sturdy, attractive low-rise boots for my son's everyday shoes. He's been wearing these for a week and they still look like new, while the sneakers he had before were destroyed within a day on the playground (they weren't cheap sneakers, either!). I'm getting them in the next size up as well at this price! For his slightly wide feet, they fit just fine and they are Regular width. He's 8 and wears a size 4. He's a shoe murderer to boot, but I think I have him beat with these!

    My child wears an 11.5 to 12 size kid shoe. The 12 in this shoe just fit him. He had to go up to a 13 for the right fit. He loves wearing them. I double knot the laces and they stay tied. Great quality shoe. I would buy again.

    Couldnt be happier. Great fit. Had to order a 1/2 size smaller than his normal shoes. We tried a pair on in a store, so we new his size. And for $30 cheaper than the store, ordering thru amazon was an amazing deal. My son loves these shoes.

    These are NOT waterproof. I wear them myself, and they went absolutely wet in a rain. Yes a heavy rain, but these are hiking boots. Also they become wet if you step in a puddle. They have a proper sewn-in tongue, so this is the problem of the fabric itself.
