Product Description

Product Description

This is a Talavera Bonsai Planter Pot measuring approx 3 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide x 7 1/4" on top. The picture shows a typical painting style and the one you receive will look similar to one of the ones shown. Each piece is made of ceramic and painted in the traditional Talavera style. A drainage hole is at the bottom of each piece. Whether you are planting a bonsai tree, flowers, cactus, or herbs, this will make a colorful addition to any room. Since each piece is individually hand painted by Talavera artists, no two pieces will be identical and the picture is a representation of the general painting patterns and colors used. Talavera is an art form that has its roots starting in the 16th Century. Original styles have been influenced with Spanish, Arabic, Italian and Chinese origins. The Spaniards brought the technique to Mexico with a distinctive style that came from Talavera de la Reina, a city in the central part of Spain.
