Toilet seat measures 14" wide, 15.25" long and 1.5" thick (both pieces together). It comes with all the hardware necessary (screws and nuts).
Like the title of my review says, I wasn't expecting such good quality at this price. This seat is "heavy", so do not expect a cheap piece of plastic. According to the box, the seat is made of stone wood, not sure what that is, thing is, this is a high quality toilet seat and you won't be disappointed. Some here have complained about the seat being too small or short, well, the description says it clearly, that the shape is "Round", so if your toilet is not round, then you need an elongated seat, such as the Kohler K-4694-0 Ridgewood Elongated Closed-Front Toilet Seat, White.

Installation is easy. Simply pop the caps open at the back (caps that cover the screw's housing) lay it down and screw it on. In case you were wondering, the distance between the screw housing, measured from the outside of each, is 7"; from the inside, they are just over 4" apart. Good luck.

I weigh 250lbs (let's just assume that I'm an NFL tackle), and I've just broken my second of these toilet seats. I thought the seat looked great and worked well, so when the first broke I immediately came here to Amazon and bought another. 4 months later, and it's broken - in the same exact spot of the last. Leaning over to get a magazine, the seat snapped between the front spacer that keeps it lifted above the porcelain and the back. If there was another spacer mid-way between the front and back, it wouldn't have snapped. If you also are a weight-lifter, action hero, or professional wrestler, I'd advise you to look elsewhere. It can't handle the stress. I've only removed two stars since for an average weight the seat will work splendidly. But I still remove the two stars, as a design change would make the seat suitable for everyone.

I installed this seat almost exactly one year ago, and today I replaced it because it has become embarrassingly ugly. One year of ordinary use and ordinary cleaning products* have worn away the paint in several spots. Just as bad, if not worse, the paint stains ridiculously easily. I have never had a toilet seat get permanent stains* from a five year old boy's poor aim.

*The stains are the only places I used bleach and "magic" sponges, instead of all-purpose bathroom cleaners. As noted, the paint wears off with ordinary cleaners, so of course these wore it off even sooner.

I bought this to replace a toilet seat that had lasted about 11 years and was clearly showing its age. The paint was wearing off and it just didn't look pleasant any more. So I got this seat and found that it was made mostly of plastic and molded wood. That's not a bad thing, mind you. I have two other seats that I'll be replacing with this. The other seats had metal bolts and hinges that rusted completely. Gross stuff to have in a bathroom. This attaches nicely, you just needs a screwdriver (unlike the other ones that needed a wrench).

On another note, the top review for this item says that this seat is "for a child-sized seat". I don't know what kind of behemoth of a toilet she has, but it fit my (normal) sized toilet just fine. I ordered two more for my other two toilets all of different brands and I'm sure it'll fit just fine one those too. I'll update if that's not the case.

I bought this to replace my Porcher toilet seat- it is working out quite well. I can't believe I lived with a crack in the toilet seat lid for so long. I was worried about the color match- (the many shades of a manufactures' term for beige- biscuit?). Also porcher seats are expensive & not worth the dough. So, the kohler doesn't have brass hinges and only plastic screws- but who cares. Seats get so disgusting, I assume that I will buy a new one rather than clean the years of filth from 5 boys. ( it actually should be changed monthly)
