I have type S wavy curls/Type 2. This did not work for my long hair. It leaves it crispy, stiff and straight on the ends if left to air dry. It works better if I diffuse it, but even then it doesn't encourage my natural curl. I think it is better if you have really tight curly hair, but if your hair is combo like mine, it really isn't a good mousse, at least that's my experience.

I really, really, really love this product. I have a lot of fine, wavy hair. Most products weigh my hair down or do not help it curl up. THIS product is wonderful. Many other reviewers have commented on the 'crunchy' after feel of the product. I agree, it does leave your styled hair crunchy and sometimes dry feeling. But I would vary the amount of product you use to see if you can get this to diminish. Also I use a very (very) little amount of a pomade as a finisher on my ends and this tends to get rid of the crunchiness and gives me soft bouncy curls. Again, my hair is wavy and not curly, but with this product I can achieve the curl amounts (and keep them for most of the day) that I want.

This is a great mousse for curly hair. It does get a little sticky, make sure to apply to wet hair and use a diffuser. For more volume, bend over and blow dry your hair for the back to the top on low.

I put this product to the test with my natural soft curls. I used the Samy mousse on half of my head and Paul Mitchell Sculpting foam on the other half. The Samy side gave my curls more definition and a very slight crunch which I like, because it tames my hair. The P.M. side does help form the curls, but it's too lightweight for me and my curls. Yes P.M smells wonderful, but the price is high, so I'm sticking to Samy! I hope this helps ladies:)

I have short curly hair and have a ton of curly-hair products in my bath cabinet. However, this one seems to be the best of the lot. The only minor fault is that it leaves the hair a bit hard to the touch but if it is combed through, it's a bit better. Other than that, Samy does work for both forming and holding the curls.
