To me, the 1978-82 period of KISS is the most intriguing. I like the diversity of the solo albums, the disco-esque "Dynasty," the hard rocking "Creatures of the Night." I absolutely LOVE "Music: From the Elder" (I don't care what others, including Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons say, I think it is a brilliant masterpiece) and I kind of sort of like "Unmasked" ("Shandi" is good, and the cover is cool). This chapter of Kissology is, obviously, of great interest to me. Most of this material has been available unofficially for years, but it is nice to have it on DVD quality. To me, the star attraction that got my attention when looking at the content listing on the back of the box was "KISS in Attack of the Phantoms."

I've always known the film as "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park." I've had the late 1980s VHS release since, probably, the late '80s, but the version here if ultra cool. There is extra concert footage and special effects and, even better, they've dubbed in tracks from all four of the KISS solo albums. That makes so much sense! More KISS music! Some of the tracks work very well with the selected scenes in the film. The intro to "Radioactive" when the Gene clone comes out to attack the park guards and an unsuspecting drink stand, "Mr. Make Believe" as Abner Devereaux is told, basically, to retire, "Hold Me, Touch Me (Think of Me When We're Apart)" when Melissa leaves the park without Sam and finds his retro VW bug, and Paul's "Love in Chains" when KISS was in the Chamber of Thrills. All the solo records are well-represented. It was fun just identifying all the songs. (I won't give them all away, but did you catch the opening to "Burning Up with Fever"?

Great vintage performances. The Kiss movie is also included, except it's the European theater release, Kiss in Attack Of The Phantoms. Same as the TV movie, but a few alternate scenes and music from the solo albums.

I got this for my dad. He loved the first volume and loved the original concerts that were never seen in other DVDs. This one will just continue the experience.
