I spent $11 on this game for nothing...I'm very upset...I downloaded the game and now I cant get the window to open..I've tried uninstalling and Reinstalling SEVERAL Times and nothing works....Windows for this wont open at ALL and its been 2 days of trying!.. I think amazon should check these games before putting on into the Market!....and I waited forever to get this game.

First I will say, I had orderd Monster Jam from Steam, do not do that, Monster Jam on Steam is a BOREING side scroller. THIS GAME, is a way better first person car crushing game. Haven't played anything but the freestyle yet, but really, it's monster trucks, who needs more than the freestyle? Came with no instructions, but all you gotta do is go forward and crush cars. It's not rocket science. Only gave four stars because I think things like the MOTOR sound could have been like a real truck, this is 2005 isn't it? And no real life physics? I wasn't expecting physics like the game "Spin Tires", but I was hoping for more than body panels to just disappear, again, this is 2005. think this game was made in 2003, I dunno, someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.
My one tip, hit the ctrl button for the "boost", found it by accident.

i bought this computer game for my grandson who is 9 yars old. OMG he loved and played it for hours. it has so many features and differnet things you can do with it. i would recommend it highly to any child interested in the monster jam trucks. my grandson and his dad go to the events all the time and he was so excited to be able to play and race and crash the trucks any time he wanted

My 5 year-old saw the commerical for this while watching Monster Jam on TV. He rec'd it for Christmas (PC version) and LOVES it! We had to buy a new video card for our PC, but that's all.

I have the PC version of this game. Graphics are really good but trucks cast no shadows. Damage model is pretty detailed.
This game does not support steering wheels, either use a keyboard or a game pad. No excuse for a modern day driving game not to support steering wheels. Also their is no incar view, either use chase view or front bumper view.
I have not found any type of multi player mode, kind of disappointing. Overall the fun factor of this game is pretty high for just arcade style racing as this game is not for true sim racers.

Firstly if you are into gaming and want to get this one you can get it from Steam (store.steampowered.com) where it will more than likely be cheaper.

The description of this game both on the DVD ROM packaging and online from Steam lists a Multiplayer mode but the Windows PC version of this title does not include that. If you're looking for a Monster Jam title with Multiplayer then look at one of the later titles published for the XBox or PS3.

Whether you buy this title on disc or from Steam once you have it installed you will need to install a software patch, Google for "Monster Jam 1.01 Patch" and install that. This fixes some sound and performance issues and adds some game controller and video settings options some how missing in the original version for Windows which is completely inexcusable.

And once the patch is installed do not confuse the controller configurations options listed as Button 1 and Button 2 as options for configuring two controllers for two players, i.e. for Multiplayer since that isn't what it is. Rather it seems they are allowing you to configure either a game pad or keyboard so you can use either but not both.

Overall given that this product has been made available for Windows listing Multiplayer support which isn't there, requires a software patch to fix some major bugs and the product page for the title is no longer available on Activision's web site I would advise looking at the console version of this title or as I mentioned a later title from the same series. So overall my advice would be not to buy this title.

I just purchased and played Monster Jam for the first time tonight. The graphics are really good for an almost 5 year old game. The sounds, music and announcers are pretty good as well. However, there are two, well three, main problems with Monster Jam. The first is control. Man is your truck hard to control on the tracks. I understand that driving around a huge truck with an alcohol burning engine on 6 foot high tires must be tough but come on activision. The worst part is when you hit something and spin out. It's next to impossible to get yourself straight again before the others drivers hit you, which leads me to the next problem.

There is no in race reset function. On games like Need For Speed or Test Drive, there is an in race reset function that allows you to reset your car should you spin out or wreck. The biggest problem with Monster Jam is once you spin out its almost guaranteed you will be hit by other drivers. When that happens you will be dragged quite a ways. Or, you can also hit other trucks causing them to be lodged under your truck. You end up towing them about a half mile down the track before they come off. Or, you will get yourself lodged on a bridge, or a building, with no hopes of turning around in time to stay in the race.

The last problem is the camera. The camera stays with your truck as you drive. So when you spin out, it switches to a behind the truck view. But the problem is, it isn't quick enough to keep up with you as you turn yourself around. It takes about a second for it to switch but that might just be long enough to cause you to lose the race.

Monster Jam is a pretty fun game. I mean, come on, you get to drive around monster trucks. There are just a few problems that make the game quite frustrating and take away some of the fun factor.
