For years I've had a three gang box to the left of our kitchen sink...with all white receptacles consisting of two switches for lighting and one for the garbage disposal. Over the years....there have been several instances of family members or guests accidentally turning on the disposal by accident...when they intended to turn on a light. Fortunately nobody lost any fingers....but since we are remodeling our home...this was the perfect opportunity for me to rectify the situation with a unique LIGHTED switch for the disposal.

The Led is visible, yet not intrusive...which we love. More importantly, this switch is truly Commercial quality. I'd highly recommend this switch (which by the way is very pleasing to the eye) doer any number of uses, such as a light switch for any room like a garage, basement, laundry room, etc.. where you may have to initially step into a dark room and need to see where the light switch is located.

A LOT OF MONEY FOR WHAT DOES.. IN THE REVIEWS IT WAS SAID THE LIGHT TO TELL YOU IT IS ON WASN'T VERY BRIGHT AND IT ISN'T! LEVITON MAKES A ON /OFF FLIP SWITCH THAT RETAILS FOR APPOX. $3.TO 4 DOLLARS. WHAT MAKES THIS ONE WORTH 25 TO 30 DOLLARS IS A GOOD QUESTION! THE SWITCH ALSO REQUIRES A THIRD WIRE AS IN A BLACK HOT, A WHITE NEUTRAL TO THE SWITCH, AND A RED OR SECOND BLACK TO RETURN TO THE FIXTURE.THIS IS NOT SO EASY UNLESS YOU ARE WORKING WITH "NEW" WORK. YOU ALSO HAVE WIRE IT THE OLD WAY OF LOOPING THE WIRE AROUND THE SCREW.

Our attic velntilator system motor failed, the replacement motor was so quiet I couldn't tell if it was running or not. This switch/pilot light solved the problem. When I would switch on the ventilator system, the light goes on. Thus, we never worry about leaving it running on and on. The switch is actually made in the USA and appears to be of excellent quality. It fits in perfectly to the Decora style and I am sure will be dependable for years to come

I wanted a switch that would show whether my attic lights were on or not (my attic is accessible via a pull down stairs, and once the stairs are retracted, it is not obvious whether one has turned off the lights there from the switch on the 2nd floor). I wanted a switch with a pilot light that would stay on when the lights were on.

I installed this switch, found that the directions were very clear and the switch did exactly what I wanted it to. The pilot light is bright (I don't know what another reviewer was saying when (s)he claimed that it is difficult to see whether the pilot light is illuminated or not. Perhaps that person needs to remove their Stevie Wonder glasses and have a close look.

Anyway, this is a nice switch, and along with the Lutron Claro screwless wall plate, looks very sleek and functions beautifully.

This is a clean looking AC switch with a subtle pilot light.
Our bedroom looks directly into the bathroom and this switch is visible.
I chose this particular version because of the small pilot light.
It is a quality product (Leviton) which installs easily.
The wires can either be wrapped around the screws or slipped into the plates behind the screws and tightened down.
It is a 15 Amp device, so if your load is greater than that you should look for the heavier duty version.

LED light is impossible to see. I installed this in my shop so I would know if one of the exterior lights was switched on. If the LED catches any sunlight, it appears on...and isn't bright enough when it IS on to tell the difference. Seeking a better option now.

This switch does what I was looking for: the red light lits up when the switch is on. I have a light outside and the switch is inside; now I can tell when the switch is on. I was not able to find this item at Home Depot.

Cons: to conect the wire, you have to wrap the wire around the screw. Newer Leviton switch are better designed.
The color is not as white as other Leviton switches.
The switch does not look as sturdy as other switches from Leviton.
