Beware. We installed this light in our son's bedroom three months ago and tonight we went upstairs to find the light SMOKING! Five more minutes and it probably would have been in flames. We disassembled the unit to see what the issue was and a large, white, ceramic electronic bit (resistor, maybe?) smoked up before our very eyes and glowed red. Please be VERY CAREFUL and use only under supervision. Better yet, return it or toss it - before your house catches on fire!

I like the new LED lights with DMX control. These, however, are not what i had thought. They turn on and sit near an outlet ( or extention cord), and flash. The oldschool beacons covered a whole 360 degree area, as these only shine spots of light. they're alwasy on untill unplugged. If hidden behind a wall, or from far away, it looks cool... but does not shed the light effect that i desired. Pros and cons; I would go oldschool...

This is a nice feature to have in any DJ lighting set-up, but it doesnt have the same effect as the old bulb police beacons. What is nice about LED is you can run it all night, without worries of over heating. I guess you take the good with the bad.

New school meets old-school... Great product just what I was looking for, very bright, different modes are useful. The only flaw I see in the product is the controls being on the bottom. It would have been nice for the controls to be on the side. Nevertheless I trusted the existing reviews and got just what I was looking for.

In a dark area, it's FANTASTIC! Even in a brighter area, it boldly states itself. For our purposes, we took it out of the black casement and blue transparent cover to be used inside a display. It worked flawlessly! Obviously, it's not as bright as the ones that the police use, but it does the intended job. We still may keep looking for one that is closer to the actual thing, but for what it is, and the price offered, it can't be beat.

We were looking for a low voltage item that could be run for days with no fear of a light bulb burning out.

AND YOU MAY NEED AN EXTENSION CABLE TOO,AS THE ONE IT HAS IS NOT THAT LONG ! ANYHOW , BUY IT YOU'LL LOVE THIS LITTLE LED BEACON ! I RECOMMEND IT !!!
