Manufacturer Clarification, July 2, 2009
This review is in response to the comments made by "Musashi" on June 29, 2009. My company is the manufacturer of the 5-in-1 Tasty Baker and Pop Art Toaster. In fact, this company is owned and managed by moms of who I am one. I'm sorry that you are disappointed in the Prize that you won, but felt compelled to respond to some of your criticisms. I have personally made all of the recipes we promote on our website with this product.
1. While you will make several batches with your batter it is quick, easy and the point being you are making "bite sized" treats. It will not take all morning.
2. For cleanup, the baking plate has a non-stick coating and if you follow the instructions a non-stick spray is recommended as well. A free cleaning brush is included to help facilitate the clean up process. It is no harder to clean the Tasty Baker then any other waffle iron on the market. In fact, in winning an iParenting Award, one of their reviewers even praised us for ease of cleanup.
3. Most importantly we do hold a Disney License. I invite you to call Disney to confirm this if you wish. Actually, our Disney Licensed Mickey 5-in-1 Tasty Baker is our best selling item. The Tasty Baker is not marketed as a toy but as a kitchen electric. It is a way for a parent to make child-friendly, fun, food. Also, it can be an interactive activity with a parent and child. Perhaps a child can help mix the batter, or decorate the finished cakes as they would help in making Christmas Cookies. But would you let your kids put the cookies in and out of the oven? No. It's the same principle.
4. Lastly, our Original 5-in-1 Tasty Baker, which is what I believe you won, is not a Disney product and therefore requires no Disney labeling on the package or unit. The Mickey Mouse looking image is in fact a dog.
This product may not be for you, but should you decide to actually use the Tasty Baker, you may discover that it is a fun alternative to the same old cupcakes.

Can't picture using this, June 29, 2009
I love small appliances, my counter is full of them, so when my sweetie won one of these in a blog giveaway I thought, finally, something useful out of all these contests! But it wasn't to be, I won't be making counter space for this. The molds hold maybe 2-3 tablespoons full of batter -- that's why the cooking is so fast! You'll be filling, emptying, refilling, all morning just to make one recipe's worth of muffin. The molds aren't removable, so cleanup doesn't look too easy. The same manufacturer makes a bunch of "Disney" branded products, but I doubt if they have a license. Seriously, would Disney license a waffle iron that, if used without adult supervision, could produce some serious burns, as a "Disney Princess" item?
Their website at [...] shows a bunch of Disney product, but nowhere on the site is there any trademark notice. Could Disney's world-famous legal team be asleep at the wheel? Even this model, which makes no reference to "Disney" in its packaging or labeling, has a mold resembling Mickey Mouse in it. Thorough examination of the unit reveals no information at all about the country of manufacture. Pardon me, but isn't that a legall requirement for all imported goods, and you know this thing is not made in the USA.
Two stars because maybe a super-industrious mom would enjoy making kid-party snacks with this.
The above review is just from unpacking the thing. Will update after trying it. Who knows? Maybe I'll love it! LOL.
