I ordered these two blue lights and two red ones to help decorate house exterior lights for Christmas. The first blue one did not make it through the first night before it burned out. The second burned out the next night. The two red ones from a different supplier work well. These blue lights were a total waste of money and time.

Had looked high and low for a red bulb that was more than 25 watts, it's for my small chicken house..it seems to be perfect..(the larger heat lamps were too hot for the small space I have) so my little chickens stay warm but not too warm..

I don't have much to say about this product beyond what the title already does. It's a light. It's blue.
It is only 40 watts so it isn't very bright.

You might be wondering though why I would give a blue light only two stars, especially after purchasing and receiving exactly what I asked for--a blue light!

As per Amazon's review guideline, two stars is supposed to equate to "I Don't like it", and I don't like it. I had this bulb in for about 10 seconds, maybe 15 seconds at the most. After only being on for such a short period of time. my fingers came in contact with the glass and burned them pretty badly.
Maybe the bulb I received was defective, maybe it has something to do with a flaw in its design but I don't think it should have gotten as hot as it did in such a short period of time. Let me state it again. I burned my fingers by touching the bulb after it was on for only about 10 seconds. Oh, how I pity those poor Kmart employees who must go around changing those blue lights they use for their specials if this is the brand of bulb Kmart uses.

After my little incident I put the bulb back in the box and placed it in a high up and out of the way place where it will likely remain for many years.

My suggestion to those in the market for a blue light--try a brand other then Satco (Just say Sat-NO!).
Unless your in the market for a blue light bulb that will burn you quickly, in which case I give this thing five stars and suggest you buy it immediately!

The light bulb has a nice color which works alright for my small room that i have it in, but it is not very bright at all and doesnt illuminate the room in red light as i hoped, it more has a glow of red that comes from the light and is faintly visible throughout the room
