I purchased one of these at my local orange box store so that I could drill a bunch of 1/8" pilot holes in the cinderblock wall of my basement. Sometimes, I got the hole drilled, and sometimes not. I guess the cinder block has some areas that are harder or softer than others. Anyway, after a few holes had been drilled I noticed that the bit was becoming slightly warped. A few more holes later and it snapped off in the wall. Disappointing! But you get what you pay for I suppose.

I probably have amazingly hard wall tiles... Bought two of these and they each wore down after on drilling average 1.5-2 holes. I now have one bit that has clearly lost its edge and another that seems to have lost its head... Having said that, they worked where my previous Bosch masonry bits that came with a set of various bits (also made in China) failed.

Would I recommend them? Despite the short life, I'd have to say the answer is yes since I've just bought myself a 5 pack of exactly the same. Do an Amazon search for the 5 pack...
