No joke. I wanted to start using olive oil for my family for health reasons but I honestly never understood why people liked it quite so much. It had...for lack of a better way to describe it...a strange aftertaste or taste on the back of my tongue that I found very unpleasant. I am very curious about food and always asked people about it...figuring it was entirely possible I hadn't had a good experience with olive oil. While vacationing in Florida I was in a Greek district (Tarpon Springs) and found a small Greek grocer who was extraordinarily kind. When we came to the olive oil section, he pointed out all the olive oils that were popular with tourists. My question to him was, "Which one do you have in your kitchen at home, though?" He pointed to this oil...the one with the peculiar logo was the one on his dinner table. I didn't try this until I got back home to Arkansas. In one teaspoon I was elated and crestfallen. I'd finally found a truly sweet, flavorful olive oil without the strange aftertaste. I now saw what people enjoyed and appreciated about this ingredient...and I live in B.F. Arkansas and finding it would likely be next to impossible..great. I started searching for it immediately. I found it on Amazon, but at the time they were out of stock. In my research, I found this is a farm who harvests and makes all the oil they can for their farm..then they are done until next season. Well, that explained why it wasn't available at the time...and spoke to me about the commitment of this farm to only put out a quality product. I kept an eye out and once I found it was available again...I got a 3L can. There are plenty of ingredients I can get just about anywhere. My olive oil is NOT one of those things. I am very picky. This olive oil is smooth, sweet and delicious. If that matters to you, this is the one to get. If not, buy whatever makes your tongue happy.

This is the second can I've ordered. This oil is very light and almost tasteless. My mother hates olives but she loves this oil. When the doctor told my dad to "eat like a Greek" to avoid further heart attacks and strokes I went straight to Amazon and studied all the various Greek olive oils. Spitiko is by far the best olive oil for us. I recommend it to everyone.

Full flavor. I am greek and I love my olive oil. This olive oil is good on everything especially on a piece of bread and a nice salad. I love this olive oil because it is pure organic. My cousin in Greece has property and makes his own olive oil in Krete and I love his olive oil but this is very close and to be honest even better.

I just wish I could find it in more places. We buy this olive oil by the case because it is hard to find but once I find it we stock up. I go to a lot of olive tastings and if the olive oil is not close to Spitiko olive oil it is not good. Ok I have high standards with olive oil

I always tell my friends about this olive oil because I know as more people taste it they will fall in love with it and hopefully we will see on the shelves of our local supermarkets.

We are of Greek heritage and traveled there in 2010. Having this oil on our table for meals transports us back to our wonderful vacation. It might me more pricy than store Olive Oils, but they are sad in flavor and quality compared to Spitiko. Give your mouth a vacation to Greece!

I must have received a different oil than these folks who gave it a 5 star review. I found it to be almost flavorless and what little flavor it had was bitter. Pale, cloudy color with no aroma. Would love to get a refund...
