It is recommended for snowshoers and their gear (that's a big picnic) up to 300lbs. But the shoes themselves are very lightweight and even if you're carrying a load you'll appreciate the simple cam-locking buckle binding system and lightweight maneuverability of the Silver 17. Although the Silver 17s are one of the largest snowshoes on the market they're by far lighter and easier to navigate than traditionally shaped shoes and feature a binding system that won't freeze or come loose even in the wettest conditions.
