It Works! Stopped my border collie mix from pulling!

I have a border collie mix and she's extremely active. After a day of hiking, running, and rollerblading, she'll still want to do our daily walk and play ball right after. She exhausts me on our "walks" - which is now just called, "run-time".

Since she was a puppy, she'd pull. She's now 3 and I've only been using this for the past 6 months. I wish I found this sooner.
My dog used to focus and then lunge at any critter that moved during our walks - especially at squirrels, large birds, skunks, and opossums. She's pulled me so hard that I've fallen into shrubs, tumbled down hiking trails, and have gotten scrapped-up pretty bad on concrete.

This dog harness finally put me in control during our walks. From the first moment I put this on her, she stopped pulling. I now look cool walking my dog instead of looking like I got my ass whooped by my own dog.

I feel (only slightly) guilty as I suspect that this harness works by limiting the full range of movement to the front legs of my dog. When we go up hills or up staircases, I notice she's a hops a little funny. It's up to you, but I swear, this saved my relationship with my dog. I feel like we can now go anywhere together! It's transformed "the walk".

Best crap I've ever purchased from Amazon! Love it! Highly recommend this product.

Tip: Large fits perfectly. My dog is about 68 lbs. Pretty athletic build - not bulky. I started out with the M/L size and it was a tad too tight and uncomfortable-looking on my dog. I exchanged it for Large, and the adjustable straps make for a custom fit.

Best style we have found for "tuggy" dogs

We have 2 tuggers, about 60 lbs each, with strong chests. We have tried everything, including (but not limited to): harnesses with leash attachments on the back instead of chest; gentle leader; the Cesar Milan thing; dozens of training collars; etc.

One of our dogs trained within days using this harness. The other dog, who is always a bit slower to learn, still tugs a bit, but when he does, it is not with as much force. He seems to be finally getting it. And when he pulls, I'm happy it is from his chest and not his throat.

We have tried the regular and reflective version of this harness. The fabric used in the regular version was not strong. The reflective fabric is *much* sturdier. I highly recommend this one.

OK quality, Very Misleading Product Description

This is an OK quality harness and leash, but I must say I feel a little bit mislead by the product title and description. When I ordered this product, the title listed it as "Premier Reflective Easy Walk Harness With 1 x 6 Leash". That led me to believe I was ordering the same very high quality harness I now use - one from the brand "Premier" which they call the "Easy Walk Harness". Instead, the product I received was from a brand called PetSafe who also calls their product Easy Walk.

I can only assume the company who listed who the product chose to use the word "Premier" in the product title as an adjective, but in my opinion that's a very deliberate misleading statement. As I mentioned above, the "Premier" brand harness I own is of very-high quality. It has soft, thick nylon material and heavy-weight metal clips. I want to purchase the same exact harness and leash - and I thought I was. The PetSafe version is good, but not nearly as nice. The material is stiff and (comparatively) thin. I can see the PetSafe version cutting into or chaffing my dog. I can't speak for the reflective qualities of this harness, as I'm sending it back without any use.

One last minor annoyance, I received a red/black harness instead of the all red version I selected (and the picture indicates). Not a big deal, but worth mentioning since you can purchase an all red version of this harness elsewhere on Amazon.

(Please note: my two star rating reflects the quality of the product in my opinion. Not my experience in ordering and returning.)

Best harness ever

This doesn't look reflective during the day, but at night it shows right up. These are the best if your dog pulls or you have to walk more than one like me. They don't pull one on one but when they are together they have to compete to see who can pull me the fastest around the block, these harnesses give me the control. They wear them no problem, not like the ones that go over their snout that they constently try to get off. These are also great for the car I hook my dogs the the seat belt, and this way I don't have to have a different harness to put them into when we go in the car, I just hook the belt to their harness. I have the black one and the red one.

Reflective feature makes this excellent for low light and night walks

You know how painful and annoying it is when your clothes pinch, rub and don't fit you properly? Well...your dog feels the same way, except he can't tell you.

I would have rated this 5 stars because: (a) it is reflective...a great safety feature; and (2) the principle behind the design which protects the dog's neck and (except for the dedicated puller) discourages pulling.

My 3 star rating is based on the following reasons:

(1) the placement of the opening buckle for the bottom (black colored) strap that goes under the dog's chest hits my dog's elbow bone (uncomfortable and causes bruising and redness);

(2) the front starp with the martingale feature (the strap that goes across the front of the dog's chest is too short for a broad chested dog (I have an adopted 12 week old rescued American Pit Bull Terrier...the tweener size S/M barely fit her across her chest when adjusted to the widest dimension)

(3) the finishing on the cut edges has sharp and pointy dried glue which I had to file down with an emory board so they wouldn't bite into my dog's skin; and

(4) the stiff material from which the straps are made have a hard edge that cuts into my dog's skin at pressure points and wears off her fur.

Improvements in design I'd like to see (which may make this a more expensive product): (1) Softer fabric/material for the straps to avoid the hard edges; (2) Placement of the bottom strap buckle so it does not ride directly behind and rub against the dog's elbow; (3) more room or more adjustment on the front chest strap for broader chested breeds (4) Sewn and better finished edges rather than blued edges so the hard glue does not created sharp points or edges that cut into the dog's skin.Read more ›
