4.0 out of 5 stars Great bang for the buck, January 13, 2008
This review is from: Motorcycle Helmet Speakers w/ Volume Control
You totally get what you pay for. With moderate expectations (knowing these are not going to give you the greatest sound you have ever heard from a set of headphones) these are really great.

I used them a few times last season, and they were awesome. Took a bit to get them to fit just right, but I left them in for good - they are so low profile they don't bother me in the helmet at all.

Knowing that riders who wear a helmet will most certainly be wearing riding gloves, I may have made the volume switch a bit easier to use for gloved hands, but otherwise, they work great!!

4.0 out of 5 stars They work!, February 3, 2009

I use these headphone speakers with my IPOD in my jacket while riding my HD on the freeway and on quieter roads. It's nice to have nice music playing and I also appreciate the fact that these headphones are not so loud that they would be unsafe if a siren were to come behind.
The sound is good and for the price, they are a good deal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Plenty loud but too thick, June 1, 2009
This review is from: Motorcycle Helmet Speakers w/ Volume Control
Pros -
1. Volume. You should have no problem as far as volume is concerned. These are plenty loud with an iPod.
2. Cord length - overall length of the cord is good, if not a little too long.

Cons -
1. The volume knob could be easier to use. If you aren't using these on a motorcycle, no worries. Don't try to adjust while driving or with gloves, it's not going to happen.
2. Thickness. I have a full faced HJC helmet, so factor that in. 7/16" doesn't sound thick but they are uncomfortable as all get out. If you can get around 1/4" thickness you would be better off.

For me, these were a waste of money but a good learning experience. Now that I am looking for thinner speakers, I found articles on cutting up the old walkman/discman headsets. I have several of them cluttering up drawers so that is my next step.

5.0 out of 5 stars solved a problem!
I wanted to listen to the radio when I ride my scooter. These worked nicely and I use them every day when I ride with my helmet on.
