Let me state that I am reviewing this based on MY experience with this product. Some people are quick to jump and say their animals didn't like this therefore you shouldn't buy it. Just because THEIR animal didn't like it doesn't mean that YOUR animal won't like it!
My first experience with this product left me a little jaded but it was not at all because of the product! The product itself is exactly as advertised, it's 100% edible, what you see is really what you get. A thick log that an animal can gnaw on to wear it's teeth down, it's filled with alfalfa and seeds and held in place with honey and is not at all messy. It was because of my picky bunny, Flopsie and the price I paid for the log at a local pet store. Flopsie has had the same Snak Shak log for several months, there is wear at both ends but nothing exciting. There is plenty of log left, so much in fact that if I left it in her cage she'd have it hanging around for a few years!! So, because it was pricey and because Flopsie really doesn't care for this it's not something I would personally buy for her again.
A few months ago I picked out the cutest little baby guinea pig, Bacon, he needed some love and needed to be spoiled ROTTEN. Instead of handing over Flopsie's Snak Shak log (since she had already marked it as hers) I thought that Bacon should give it a whirl, I had found one of the smaller logs and bought it for him. HE LOVED it, at baby guinea pig size it took him about a month to chew up the small log. I was THRILLED! 2 months later we acquired another baby, Oreo, and he too LOVES the Snak Shak logs!!!
