I loved this product for about a week. Sleek burl wood look, with chrome touches and a complimenting black color. All for what appears to be an unbeatable price. So what happened that changed my mind? The cheap rubber melted and lost its shape. The black part still fit onto the steering wheel, but it was deformed and uncomfortable to grab onto. The rubber that is supposed to look like burl wood - and again it does look good - lost its shape just as the black part did, only way worse; it was sliding off the steering wheel as it was melted into a deformed mess.

Of course it never melted in a way that icecream melts, there was no mess or drips or splatters. It simply melted because of the heat and lost its shape, comfort, and appearance. While I do live in Texas and have a car with both black exterior and interior, I think this is a problem that the customer will face regardless of where they live or what colors make up their car. As soon is it gets hot enough, this thing will become useless.

Many reviews rating this product highly are reviews that were written too soon. I'm not saying that if you rate this product 5 stars then you're an idiot. I'm simply saying that more time and testing should be given to any product before it is reviewed. If I had reviewed this product on the first day that I bought it, or within the first week, I would have given it 5 stars. But because I waited to see how it would hold up, after only approximately two weeks, it is safe to say that this is a bad investment even at the low price it is offered.

Don't buy it. Look for something else.

I just bought a new Chevrolet Impala LT and the dash board is a tortoiseshell design and this steering wheel cover matched it completely but even if it didn't I would have still bought it. It's very sleek and it makes your car look more expensive but it holds up great and will not fade in the sun and it's cool to the touch with a fantastic grip. Best of all the price was right and you will not go wrong with it.

Fits great. It was a little hard getting on the wheel, but that is a good thing. It doesn;t slide around at all. It feels great on the hands. The only problem it smells from the rubber. I didn't tell my wife that I bought it and put it on her car while in the garage. The reaction on her face was priceless when she got in the car. She later told me that she thought she somehow got into the wrong car.

Looks very nice in my truck.This is NOT wood, nor real chrome..as the ad somewhat infers...and I was aware it wasn't when purchased...it's heavy duty plastic/rubber, and it does stink for the first few days after installation but then the smell goes away.
Took some extra strength to get this installed.. Find somebody strong or use a nail bar to pull it down to install.Best to wait for warm weather so it loosens up a bit to put this on.Once on, it fits tight and doesn't slip. Don't know how well it will work in hot weather yet, but so far so good. Just hope it lasts. Gave it a 4 star..I do like it but I don't love it. There are nicer ones and much more expensive ones out there but this did the trick for me.

So far, I'm liking it. It's not the best quality. And since it's really hot out, the plastic part does seem super bendy and I'm hoping it doesn't actually melt. I did however notice the stitching on the plastic part seems to be loose. Some of them are poking up. I don't know if it was like that when I got it, or if it's due to me having to break like 8 nails trying to get the thing on, but it's there. Did I mention... IT'S REALLY ANNOYING TO GET ON? It's supposed to be that way, people. You don't want a slippery steering wheel. But yeah it is annoying to get on. Read the directions on the paper, you kind of have to slide it on from the top down towards the bottom. It's like anal sex, start slow and let it stretch, but it'll get there. ;) Plus side, it does look nice. It's a nice reddish woodgrain color (as opposed to the orangey woodgrain, which I hate). My steering wheel is leather and I actually prefer the feel of my leather steering wheel, but the black part on this isn't too bad.

It arrived faster than i thought it would and fit perfectly on my Ford Fusion. I would recommend it to anyone. The only reason i did not give it 5 starts is because of the terrible chemical smell it has from the moment you open the box ( it hits you hard). I recommend you leave your windows down and let it air out because it will stink up your car. Besides that it was GREAT!
