I would recommend these strings to anybody looking for a smooth, silky string that lasts long and feels good on the fingers. These strings sound absolutely wonderful with my Fender Stratocaster.

They use a process in the plant that involves soaking the strings in -320* fahrenheit liquid nitrogen for fifteen hours to make the strings last longer and sound brighter.

I recommend these over D'Daddario, Ernie Ball, GHS, and just about everything else on the market.

God Bless!

I have been using Blue Steel's since they first came out. They are crisp and clear with a fuller sound than other strings. They last very long. They rarely break. They keep their initial clarity and brightness much longer than other strings.

Of course, that last statement depends on how much you play, what type of music you play, and where you store your guitars. Either way, these strings are tough, reliable, and sound great. There really is nothing more you can ask of a set of strings.

Be aware that some packs shipped from Amazon have had defective strings that pop quickly, but you get such a great deal here that I think it is worth the risk. I just point this out to be as honest as I can. Still, 9/10 packs I have bought have been perfect.

I hope this helps.

I've been playing guitar for 8 years and these strings are good, i try changing strings at least once a month but i have not gotten the chance but with these strings I havent really had the need to... they still sound great on my epiphone les paul standard top plus after about 2 months.. And they havent broken and I hit the strings pretty hard... I do wanna try the mediums next though..

I've been playing Blue Steel's for well over 15+ years. From time to time I would try something else, but in the end always came back. I can remember the first time I put a pair on my electric, I was amazed with the tone and sustain. High gain applications (Metal & Rock) sound amazingly bright and detailed. I keep them on everything I have, guitars, basses, acoustics (Bass strings are extremely funky and bright, great slap/pop strings).

Well, last guitar I bought came from the factory with Ernie Balls. I spent a couple of weeks with them, and liked them a lot, they are good strings! At any rate I picked up a pair of Blue Steels just to have a backup. Last night I had some extra time and changed into the Markley's, and man... I forgot what I was missing.

My new guitar has Seymour Duncan active Blackouts, and with these strings... Gobs of output. The blackouts are VERY hot as is, but with the added brightness and tonality of the blue steels it was just out of this world. Pinch harmonics seemed to ring on forever, and the tonality of solo notes ring so pure and clean.

I saw one reviewer say his went dead after a week, and I'm not sure what happened there. I've always found them to outlast other brands by 2-3x. I know my Jackson has a pair on that are well over 6 months old and still sound great. I know some people have more caustic skin oils than others (my friend can ruin strings in weeks) so it might help to wipe your strings down after you play, or wash your hands good before you play (which I usually do anyway).

I know this review sounds crazy, but I'm just a regular guy who has personally endorsed these strings for so long I figured I might as well say something for them here.

The Blue Steel's are my go-to brand of strings. I love the even sound I get across all 6 strings, being neither too bright or dull. They last long as well with proper care; I don't break these too often even with heavy overbending and rabid trem use. I used to use regular DMs but switched to these about five years ago. For me, they just feel good to the touch and feel 'broken in' already, and harmonics are easy to achieve (pinch or artificial). I love 'em...give 'em a try, you may like them too.

If you play on a regular basis then get yourself a set of these. The price is excellent and so is the quality. Nice and full sound. Bright highs and resounding lows. Trust me you could do a lot worse and I have.

Buy these strings for your guitar! I am an amateur musician by some accounts, and an old pro by others. I have been in half a dozen bands, been a roadie, a fan, and an all out neo-classical blues rock guitarist for some 25 years. I played D'addario, Ernie Ball's, Fender, Martins, and the like. What Dean Markley did engineering these strings was a very fortuitous effort to keep them sounding newer, -longer, and above all others, for the price, they did it! Now if you like to string your guitar only once in a blue moon, and keep it in a humidity stable environment ie.: a case, then use these, and also use either fast -fret string grease, or like I do, use Dunlop 65 string conditioner, and they will last you at least 12 weeks before they sound dull, that is, -for home use, not on the road. Otherwise and for semi-serious players buy these strings and change them every month. If you want to string your guitar once a year, leave it out on an open stand, then Elixer strings are what you need, the nano coating makes them impervious to rust, but the tone is a lot less bright than these, the Dean Markley's. The real player will find these strings to be the best for dynamics, harmonics, and brightness lasting well into weeks past the first day you string them. Awesome!
