I really like these mints, and carry them with me all the time. My husband suggested that I check with Amazon, to see if I could get a better deal on Amazon, than I do at the grocery store. When we read the description, it appeared to us, as though it meant 96 actual packages (individual things of mints). What the 96 refers to, is that you get 96 individual mints. That certainly changes the price a bit! This price is much more expensive than if I were to buy them in the store. The pack of 5 in the store, is $2.99, and this comes out to something like $3.78 for 5 packages. Oh well.

So I receive these in the mail and I get excited; great breath 24/7 can't wait. I open a pack of mints and try one. Not bad. I bought a bunch of these packages of 5. 5 to be exact. That's 25 packs total of 8 rolls. That's 200 rolls with 12 mints = 2400 mints = awesome breath. I didn't mind and put a roll on my desk as I worked I took one every now and then. BAD IDEA. These things are SUGAR FREE. I didn't realize what that meant exactly. What it means: Eat too much at once and book the bathroom for 2 days and 2 nights everything included (maybe not TP). Bring some of that air freshener with you. It'll be a great asset.

"Artificial sweeteners such as aspartame (NutraSweet) and sucralose (Splenda) can also cause diarrhea in some people,b but sugar alcohols are more likely to induce diarrhea. When you eat foods containing sugar alcohols, be aware that you might experience sudden, explosive diarrhea if you eat too much"

-This mint contains both Aspartame and Sorbitol. Sorbitol being the first on the ingredient list and aspartame being the 3rd and being a sugar alcohol. DOUBLE WHAMMY

I didn't realize that this mint was the cause of my suffering and ate another pack until finally I put two and two together and did a google search for sugar free mints and .. you know the rest.

My advice: If you are going to purchase these and then eat them, eat one or 2 a day MAX, you don't want to risk it. TRUST ME.
You can probably get something much better though that isn't "sugar free" unless you need it.

What am I gonna do with all these mints?!!

I had to get a refund for these because the flavor was truly ghastly. My son wrinkled his nose and spat it out almost immediately. I had a similar reaction. I have had other breathsavers mints and they've been great, so I jumped in and bought 24 rolls of these. Bad mistake. It's hard to describe but the taste is almost chemically and what I'd imagine a urinal cake to taste like. If you want to risk these mints, start with a urinal cake to acclimatize your palette.

caution.. use restraint when eating these.. too many at once will have explosive results. My daughter likes them.. she eats them with restraint .. myself.. i found out i shouldn't eat these.. i have no restraint. and have paid the price. I'm not too comfortable with the chemicals in these things anyway. Things they use to replace sugar in sugar free products.

I have been a fan of Breath Savers Mints for years. I used to find them very easily at my neighborhood grocery or deli store, but not any more and this is very frustrating. Thank God for Amazon. I can now order and have them at my door in two day, at a price you cannot beat! I mean, 75 rolls for a little over $5? This is a bargain I could not pass. I always carry around one roll in my handbag and have another one in my desk drawer, just in case I run out. Nope, I swear I'm not addicted to them, I just love their refreshing peppermint taste. They're not too sweet and it's only a few calories, that want throw off your daily calorie intake plus they won't make your teeth go bad, since they're sugar free.
I would definitely re-order.
