Crazy design, Awkward to install, Sketchy instructions

SO you've got the hole cut out to fit your tp dispenser. You've got to put the tp dispenser screws through the back of the dispenser. Force the screws into the slots on the bracket to make threads. Do not tighten more than a few threads because you'll never get the whole rig into the wall. Then put the bracket into the hole DIAGONALLY with the tp dispenser loosely attached. Carefully turn the whole deal until it fits the right way. Then jiggle it to make sure the spring is properly seated. Using a motoroized screw gun SLOWLY tighten the screws. Make minor alignment adjustments as you tighten. These are the most instructions for this you will see anywhere, including the packaging.

Works as described. The spring holds it in place behind the drywall so you can screw the toilet paper holder to it. It doesn't have to be in exactly the right spot because there are slots to accept the screws.

Beware - after I cut the hole in my wall I realized it was framed with 2X3 wall studs. Luckily it fit with the mounting bracket (sold separetly!) by eliminating the bracket's tension spring and using much shorter mounting screws. Be sure you shim behind the bracket against the opposite wall so you don't lose it by slipping down inside the wall!

Stretch Your Spring!

I would recommend aligning the Recessed Paper Holder and starting a pilot ...

I used this for a paper holder fix after my Olympic aspiring children used the last one to dismount the toilet and removed it from the wall.

I would recommend aligning the Recessed Paper Holder and starting a pilot hole first before putting it in the wall. It will make the job all that much easier and keep your screws strait.

If you don't have an old mounting bracket from an existing recessed holder, you will need to buy this one. If using an existing holder, from a different brand, new holes will need to be drilled. Using Gatco's hardware for mounting a Gatco TP holder is really plug-n-play. Maybe a little pricey, but it does a nice job.

I've used them even with another brand of paper holder. Easy to install. Just put your holder up to them and drill them before you insert in to the wall. Then the spring keeps the bracket against the wall and line up the screw holes.

worked fine - tip: tape the spring to the bracket when positioning

It worked exactly as promised - I read a few of the other reviews and the suggestions were very helpful especially the one about threading the screws into the bracket before trying to mount it.

I would recommend that you use a little tape to hold the spring connected to the bracket while you're positioning it, I dropped the spring and had to fish it out.
