In our shop we have used every tool from snap-on to craftsman to plain old no-name tools. This is without question the finest cutters I have ever held in my hand. They just feel indestructible. The handles are very comfortable, and the action is crisp and clean. And most important the quality of the workmanship of this tool is perfect. If I were even stuck in one of those movies where you have to decide if you should cut the red wire or the black wire I hope I have a set of these cutters with me. Simply put, you can't go wrong with these German made Knipex.

Echoing other reviewers: High quality forging for durability and longevity. Dual material grip feels comfortable in use and I’ve never had a grip loosen or fall off over time. Forged rivet is smooth out of the box – no break-in period. And the tool just feels balanced and ergonomically correct.

In the ‘09’s, I worked for a company that imported German-made manufacturing equipment and the German technicians had these amazing tool cases that I’d never seen before. When I went to Europe for training, I bought several Knipex slip-joint pliers and, when Knipex began U.S. distribution, I continued to add to my collection. While I respect Klein for their commitment to U.S. manufacturing (and I do own several Klein tools, including pliers), I just think Knipex pliers are on another level.

Have a pair of these without the 1000v handles. they work great for cutting hard wires in flexi-duct which is all i use then for other than occasionally cutting some thick electrical wires. also they are super nice looking and feeling with this anti 1000v protection. got these as a gift for an accident prone person.

These are insulated. You will be sorry you didn't spend the extra to buy these cutters when you accidentaly cut a live wire. KNIPEX is QUALITY. Made in GERMANY & Not made in China junk. Quality costs more because it is worth more. The only problem I noticed is that the Knipex line seems better suited to people with smaller hands. Buy Klein if your hands are larger. But both brands are quality.

Can't complain about knipex quality of tools. Feels great in hand, love the insulated grips and the cutting power is great. Definitely love knipex quality, just not so much the price tag :)

These cutters are really worth the money, I use them for their intended purpose, electrical, along with about everything else. I cut machine screws and bolts to size and the blades have not suffered any noticeable fatigue. They have a nice comfortable grip that gives good leverage. I would recommend these to anyone in need of a set of side cutters even if they do not need insulated ones.
