I am an old, but very healthy, man. Over my life I have used untold number of S&P shakers. . .animals, birds, kids, celebrities, and on and on. The shakers I got from Amazon sit on an open shelf on the wall behind my cook stove. They are so easy to fill and use, easy to refill even though they are rarely ever empty. Try them out. . .you will like 'em.

I have been looking for shakers like this for a long while. I was very happy to find them at such a good price. They arrived on time. One had a dent in top, but considering the price, I did not worry about it. I opened them, washed and dried. I noticed that they are rather flimsy, the handles thin and rather sharp on the edges. I wasn't too worried about this, considering the price as long as they worked. I filled the first with salt, replaced the lid, all was well. Then I put pepper in the second, only to find that the lid did not fit properly. It would not tightened completely,...at all really. There isn't any way I can trust that the lid will not fall off when I shake it. I tried switching lids but the results were the same. The dented lid would not stay on either canister properly. I did not contact customer service because considering the price, I feel that returning/exchanging them is too expensive. I will use the one for Salt and try to figure out what to do with the second one. At least I have one shaker that works.

The shakers arrived quickly and were in great shape. I was concerned about the quality given some negative reviews, but they're just what I was looking for...and a great deal at just under $6 for both. The lids fit tightly (unlike some of the comments in reviews) and we're already using them. Agree with the comments about a P or S marking of some type to distinguish between the two...but this is a minor inconvenience. Will buy again if needed.

I got these to replace "stainless steel" shakers I bought a couple of months earlier. The "stainless" versions will not stand up to salt. When I opened up the stainless version, there was granulated rust among the salt. I am hoping the aluminum wil fare better.

They're very thin metal...but they work fine. What do you expect for the price? For those who complain that the cap doesn't fit...mine did the same thing, but just bend it in a little and it works fine. Sometimes you have to use your head to fix things instead of just complaining.

I love these shakers. My grandmother had a similar set and I have searched for years for a set like them. They pour VERY fast due to the large size and number of holes, so there is a learning curve, but once you get used to them they are great! My only complaint is there is no difference between them to identify as Salt or Pepper, so you will need to label them or find some other way to tell them apart!
