Product Description
It's been a long, sometimes-hard life for George Mason; and in his mind spending the rest his days in a retirement home is hardly worth the effort. Then the goose comes along. Soon, the old man's cast iron heart softens and he begins to change the way he thinks: The relationship he never really had with his son becomes more important to him; he sees his granddaughter through eyes much wider; and a young boy he meets by the lake is given an opportunity to take a different road than he once might have. For the first time in many years, there's a bounce in George's step. When George leaves the retirement home and buys a ranch, which he intends to share with his feathered friend, his granddaughter and the boy help fill the days with delight. But two problems impact George's new outlook on life: His son is still reluctant to accept the Old Ways of his heritage; and an I'm Going To Do What's Best For You No Matter What You Think bureaucrat becomes hell-bent on taking the goose away.
