When you buy bottles of syrup or carmel sauce - that sort of thing - at a Starbucks store, you rarely get the one thing you really could use - a pump! The Monin Syrup Pump works perfect and delivers just the right amount of the mixture to make your drinks taste just like the ones you buy in Starbucks. Of course, since you can tweak the recipe, you can make them even better!

I LOVE Starbucks' Chestnut Praline lattes and decided I wanted to make them at home. I ordered and received a 1 liter plastic bottle of the Chestnut Praline syrup directly from Starbucks.com, which was supposed to come with a pump. It didn't. I wrote customer service and they apologized and offered a $5.00 credit on my order, but said they do not ship pumps separately, you can't buy them in-store and I could just use a tablespoon to spoon my syrup into my coffee or send back my syrup if I didn't like it. (my paraphrase) Thanks, Starbucks for the $5, but I didn't want to return the syrup, and anyone who has added flavorings from a 1 liter or larger bottle with a spoon knows that the sticky stuff drips down the bottle and results in a sticky mess on the countertop, if not wiped off every time. (1st world problem) So, I hopped onto my favorite online retailer, amazon.com, and searched for a pump for my Starbucks bottle. Based upon the mixed reviews regarding the fit of these pumps on bottles other than Monin brand, I was leery, but I went ahead and ordered one. I'm happy to say that it fits the neck of my Starbucks 1 liter plastic bottle perfectly, albeit with a little bit of trimming of the straw part of the pump so that it sits down inside the bottle, similar to what another reviewer did (thanks, The Claytons, http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A20UVU5KI9IQTD/ref=cm_cr_pr_pdp?ie=UTF8) which was an easy fix to avoid a sticky mess. Additionally, I really like the end-cap that came with this straw as it further helps avoid drips of sticky syrup from the pump.

The best way of measuring Monin syrups is to have their pumps. There are two sizes so be careful of which bottle that you are getting a pump for. The glass bottles take one size and the plastic takes another. Both sizes come with a rubber protector to keep the syrup in the pump from drying and clogging the pump.

This pump works well with the Monin syrup bottles. Just make sure you clean it after using, since the dried syrup will clog the spout. I have banged on the pump to unclog the spout and, to the pump's credit, it takes a pounding and keeps on pumping. Good product.

This was a great suggestion by amazon. I would highly recommend this product to anyone purchasing the large bottles of monin or torani syrups. This works great and makes it so easy to dispense the flavored syrup. Without it we would likely be pouring the syrup all over the place. This was an inexpensive pump and is a good enough quality to be used for hopefully a few years to come..

Bought to dispense simple syrup in my daily coffee. Bought 2 so I had a backup, and one arrived defective and would not pump - I suspect an air leak at the top near the pump. The other works fine and has for a couple months. Every time I empty a Monin container I pump ~4 oz of water through it to clean out, and seems to hold up well so far. A little more QC would be nice, but otherwise it's a great way to measure sugar and can be seen at any local coffee shop.

I love the Monin Coconut syrup and I used to measure it for my coffee soda . This pump provides a measured amount with less effort and mess than a spoon . Do get the right size for your bottle size . Go to town .
Coffee soda . Double espresso in a glass with a metal spoon , a shot of Monin Coconut syrup , A teaspoon of Sugar in The Raw , leave room for ice and fill with Italian Sparkling water . Then ice . It's addictive but it's a great addiction .
