I first came into contact with this type of product in New Zealand on a trek over the Milford Track. I had a blister on my foot and the professional guide used a product from Germany named "Compeed" that was amazing. I believe this Johnson & Johnson product is the American licensee of this technology. In summary, this is no temporary wound covering made up of a strip of self-adhesive and a sterile cotton pad that makes contact with the wound. Instead, it is an advanced material without pad that covers the wound, completely, to seal out germs, moisture, dirt, etc. Meanwhile, moisture from the wound is held in and absorbed/controlled by the man-made material. It acts like an artificial scab and is meant to stay in place until full healing has completed.

It is a thermoplastic material - meaning it takes the shape of the body due to the warmth of the body. Read and use the directions for correct use to maximize the benefits built into this product.

These things are always in my hiking first-aid kit. The Compeed/Band-aid product is THE best thing I've used for heel blisters from hiking boots, ski boots, etc. Properly applied, once on, it stays on for several days and the cushioning pad is... heaven. Much better than Moleskin (Molefoam has its uses), and sterile, too. The only "negative" is that size medium is sometimes not quite large enough and no one seems to stock size large. Bummer.

These band aids are a specialty product. They use a patented product called Compeed that fills a wound with a bio occlusive gel pad that absorbs and protects a wound. They last a long time and resist washing off. They even resist alcohol gel! I use them to protect cut fingers or hang nails and sometimes for blister. They are cushioned and seem to accelerate healing better than standard band aids.

I am an above-the-knee amputee. The socket always rubs a blister. This blister cushion has completely eliminated that and it's much less expansive than the pad I had been using. It does not come off in the shower so can be worn for several days.

I used to do a lot of building projects and as a lefty hold a hammer incorrectly, resulting in many painful blisters on my fingers and hand. These are AMAZING. They make some specifically for blisters, same product though. They make it so a blister doesn't hurt to rub against and heal it much quicker (since its covered, moist underneath and not getting messed with.
Only drawback is yes, you have to put them on correctly and it will be stuck to you for days. If you try and remove it too soon, the part of the band-aid that touches the wound is sticky like the adhesive part and WILL stick to your blister/wound (ouch!) so leave it alone, but these are wonderful and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I do a lot of yard work and as a result I pay for it sometimes because of blisters. These specialty Band-Aids work wonders to seal out dirt and moisture while relieving the nagging pain you feel whenever you get a blister. These things cushion the wound and relieve the pain quickly and effectively. They even stay on for two days for me and that is while I continue to work. The gel pad built into the Band-Aid puts just enough pressure onto the blister to make it feel like the skin is still there and it heals faster too.

Every time we take the grandkids to the amusement parks we walk until the blisters hurt so bad that you can't walk anymore. I can hardly wait to take these with us to help relieve that problem.

This is a great product and I recommend it to you.

I've sworn by these colloidal bandages for YEARS. They provide fully waterproof protection for more than a week. The colloidal material merges with the moisture of the wound to form a true healing barrier, and absolutely no other bandage will heal a cut or wound faster. I've had these bandages heal small papercuts in a single day or so, and larger cuts or gouges in about 1/3 the time as any other covering or treatment. I keep several in my purse at all times. There's no need to apply any ointment, and in fact this can interfere with healing. Just wash the affected area and apply the bandage so the puffy center part is over the cut. As it heals, it will become even puffier; this is normal and indicates that the wound is healing well.

Note: This bandage is VERY long lasting, and the edges may pick up lint long before you are ready to remove it. You can keep it lightly covered with another band-aid or just trim the edges every couple days, to avoid the grunge, and this will keep you from replacing it just for appearance's sake.
