Quite frankly - they work!

I picked these up on a whim after a recommendation from a friend. They looked a little gimmicky and I was unsure of how they would actually function, but I promised to give them a try.
The bobbers work as a slip bobber with an air chamber that fills with water then locks in place with a metal ball and a magnet. Rigging them up was pretty easy, but they are quite heavy. The included hand tied rigs are well made and the whole kit should last for years.

First time I went to use them I went to a small lake in central Arizona that has some deep channels where fish like to hide. I had one pole set up with the BWAB and another set up as I normally rig for fishing these lakes (simple swivel sinker, single hook, additional weight 8 inches from hook). It was always a challenge getting the basic setup placed correctly and then getting everything back without snagging was iffy at best. With the BWAB, setting was easy. The weight helps you really launch the entire kit away from the shore and target where you want it. The sinker heads to the bottom and once it reaches the bottom the slack in the line lets the bobber do it's magic - fill with water, stand upright, and lock in place. This ensures I am fishing at the bottom of a given body of water. When it's time to retrieve the gear, the bobber helps pull the sinker up almost vertically preventing snags. If you want to pull it in just a little bit, stop, give the line some slack, and let the sinker sink. This resets the bobber and you are good to go! All in all - very easy and intuitive to use even if it is a significant departure from my 'normal' configuration.

Honestly, I was a bit skeptical with these bobbers when I saw them online. Let me tell you that they do work and function as advertised. They're a bit large, heavy, and clunky though so if you're trying to fish in stealth mode, these are not for you. I only use these in deep waters so they work very well for me. The bobbers and included rigs are well made and should serve me well for a long time!
