I got this collar for my cat almost 4 years ago. He is still wearing it! I removed the bell immediately because I find them annoying to begin with. Sorry to hear about the problem the other customer had.

My cat is indoors all the time, but he is a big, active cat. The collar will break away if you pull on it the way a cat might try to when stuck... Growing up with outdoor cats I would feel comfortable recommending this collar to owners of freewheeling felines. The cat could comfortably pull away from a tree branch or fence without injuring itself.

The material of the collar is soft and is not at all abrasive to the cats neck when fitted properly. I have tried other collars that cause contact dermatitis, this one does not.

Also, this has been my favorite collar for attaching ID tags compared to others. I've never had a problem with tags falling off and the attachment ring is oriented to the collar correctly, allowing the front of the tag to show, instead of forcing it sideways (when looking at the cat from the front). Hope that makes sense.

I have some of these safe cat collars on our other cats, but when we got a new cat, I couldn't find any at the local pet stores. The cat kept getting out of another brand I bought at one store, so I found these on Amazon and ordered one. It has worked great---the new cat cannot easily pop it off.

We brought this collar in december 2012 and by jan 2013, we noticed the cat throwing up his food. He stopped eating altogether so off to the vet and the xray showed the bell from the collar stuck in his intestines. So now we are forced to pay 750 plus dollars for surgery to remove the bell that he got off the collar and swallowed. If you want to use these "safety " collars, make it safe by removing and throwing away the bell.

I like how it is made, nice little bell for telling when the cat is underfoot. Does not break away easily like some others do at the slightest touch. Seems sturdy and a decent buy. I personally don’t like break away colors, but other then that it is very good.

I was worried about the quality of this collar judging from the price but I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing I would change is to include a metal ring for easily placing name tags and rabies tags.

This cat collar seemed like a good idea. If the cat gets stuck on something, it won't keep them trapped. Unfortunately, it comes off WAY too easy. No matter how much I tighten it so she can't get her mouth around it, my cat manages to grab a hold of it and rip it off any time she feels like playing with it. She doesn't mind it. She doesn't take it off because she hates it. She simply gets bored with her toys and has found a new form of entertainment. So basically, as "my cat got lost" protection, it is absolutely worthless. = (

Received two as a gift. Very nice looking. So why one star?

The collar is SO breakaway that it comes off too easily. In 30 days one cat lost it while outside never to be seen again and the other can remove it with some effort. I keep putting it back weekly or so but oblivious this defeats the whole reason to have an ID tag on your pet.

So... If you have a docile, slow moving cat that sleeps 18 hours a day and doesn't move much. THIS IS YOUR PRODUCT!

ps - many of the '1 star' people listed the bell as annoying. I would give THEM one star since the bell is easily removable.
