From the Manufacturer Jamo's subwoofer lineup is comprised of more than just great looking, highly versatile, quality products; each member of the range can be combined with an existing Jamo sound system or another quality brand. Our subwoofers are specially designed to broaden your experience of low frequencies, from explosions and earthquakes to subtle musical nuances and dynamic peaks.
A number of things must be considered when matching a speaker system and a subwoofer: price, musical taste and preferences, as well as the acoustic characteristics of the speakers and the room. Jamo subwoofers feature a wide variety of controls, such as variable phase control and variable cut of frequency control.
SUB 250: Compact Thunder
The Jamo SUB 250 is equipped with an 8" woofer unit housed in a slotted port cabinet. It features a powerful BASH(R) amplifier capable of delivering 250W of peak power. Relative to its size and price, the SUB 250 delivers outstanding performance and is capable of producing bass frequencies as low as 30 Hz.
The SUB 250 has a very flat frequency response, which allows it to play bass notes very accurate, compared to many conventional bass-reflex subwoofers. That response extends up to 150Hz. That's important, because the output from many subwoofers falls off dramatically above 100Hz (or even lower with some models), making them very hard to integrate with smaller speakers.
The Jamo Story
It's 1966. In the fishing village of Glyngore, Denmark, carpenter Preben Jacobsen begins building loudspeakers in his henhouse. Though blessed with great woodworking skills and broad knowledge of acoustic technology, Preben soon comes to realize that selling the remarkable speakers he's built is not his strength. In 1968, he brings his brother-in-law Julius Mortensen - an experienced salesman and exporter - into the mix, and Jamo is born.
