This is an essential tool in my kit. I fix large/grand format printers and during the calibration process have to stare are yellow ink on white material. This blue filter makes the yellow ink pop off the paper. Don't know about using this for tracking blood in the wild, but it works great for my use. My only concern is that the tightening clip broke on my first one. That's probably my fault since I have a tendency to drop stuff, or have stuff fall from the top of the printers, but I do wish that part was a bit more rugged. Or at least thicker.

This light works great in a tactical setting. I primarily use it when I'm sitting dark in my police car. The blue light is bright but won't quite give you position away like white light. Personally, I like the blue so thats why I chose this color. Fits perfect on my Surefire G2X flashlight.

I outfitted my Surefire 6P with this Blue Filter because I needed a softer light during tactical situations and drills. Works great if you have a good tac-lite! I don't use mine for tracking blood/fluids and such so I can't tell you how well that aspect works. But, I'm glad I got one before they sold out. Very hard to find these(Blue FM36)in the marketplace. Get one while you can.

The blue filter locks in to the flash light via a cam. It does not ever slip out at all. The light looks much tougher too. I've had the guy at Disney World bag check ask me if it's a pepper spray. I told him, it's only a flashlight. :)

I put it on my G2X Pro dual output LED flashlight. It's pretty easy to flip out the blue to get the white light back. Just flip the locking filter lever out and you get instant white light.
