Yes, I know, it is cheaper to puchase DMC thread individually but I simply have gotten tired of the mangled skeins from the bins in the stores. The cheaper price is simply not worth the mangled mess the skeins generally offer when you are trying to wind them on the bobbins. These skeins were neat and very easy to separate without tangles. The color selection is nothing unique or unusual but good on the basics that every collection needs. What I spent in extra cost I have more than recovered in time winding the skeins to bobbins.

This is genuine DMC floss, made in France. The packaging ensures that it arrives in top condition. There's a high gloss color insert containing four patterns, not a tiny, hard to read photocopy. There are 29 colors with two skeins of white. There are 9 different shades of green, four shades of red, four shades of blue, two of grey, five of gold, plus one dark brown, purple, pink, and black. Suitable for most holiday patterns.

This DMC collection is a great way to expand and enhance your supply. The colors are warm and varied, suitable for a range of holidays and general project work. When I opened the box, I wanted to begin using these flosses immediately. Having a good range of colors at hand also makes it easier to just start stitching whenever you have an odd bit of free time. This is a great set of floss colors that are especially useful for traditional Christmas holiday designs and general winter colors. There are patterns included in the set that specifically are a match for those designs, so it is a great way for a new stitcher to learn with. I have used DMC floss for over forty years and use it exclusively in my cross stitch designs. It is a tried and true floss that gives good coverage. The gift of DMC floss is always right for someone who cross stitches or embroiders. I like picking up these sets locally with a coupon at a major craft store. Quite often, I am able to get them for half off and it is a great way to build your floss stash.
