There is no other gift that has given my 4 year old so much delight. He would rather draw with his pencil set than watch TV, how's that for motivation to make this purchase. The carrying case is not right for small children, hard for them to open and easy to spill. They must have done something right in the design, though, because my son takes a lot of pride in keeping all of his pencils sharpened and in their place. He has had it for more than half a year now and uses them every day.

These pencils were much cheaper than buying them at any store and still the same great crayola brand. Received very quickly in time for school (anatomy and physiology for RN program). I used them for flash cards, notes and a Greys Anatomy coloring book I also purchased.

First off, I thought these were going to be normal size pencils. There for kids, and will not last long. I'e using a couple of them and have sharpened them and they're a lot smaller. I would this item only for kids. The price was great for these.

I was sorely disappointed with these pencils. They are so short! One or two sharpenings and they'll be useless. Plus, my package arrived with fully 1/3 of the pencils broken off at the tip. I am returning them.

There's a lot of good colors in here. Some of them are a little too light to show up on paper though (about 5-6 of them), and some are so close to other colors (about 5 pencils) in the box that when you use them, they look exactly the same on paper. Also, the pencils break frequently, and the tips seem to fall out often. I end up having to re-sharpen them almost every single time I use the pencil. This has caused many of them to be almost halfway done, after only a few uses. It's very disappointing.

Overall, the price is okay for the amount you get, but the quality is so poor that it's not worth the money. You can get better quality colored pencils for a better price. And with the selection having many colors that are too similiar, and many colors that are too light to show up on paper, getting the "64 ct" is just a gimmick.

These 64-count short Crayola Colored Pencils are a disappointment for a number of reasons. Short? And how! They measure 3.5 inches (9 cm) stem to stern and look more like golf pencils than any kind of long-barrelled pencil. The box disguises this shortcoming by being very tall, but inside each successive row of pencils is stepped up, like stadium seating in a theater. The exterior implies that the pencils are in order by color range, but they appear to be in no color order, neither prismatic, alphabetic, or by hue. The built-in sharpener is plastic and lame. The maker says the colors are different, but I'll have to trust them on that because color names are not printed on the pencils themselves.

This is way too much to pay for such a disorganized mediocrity. Crayola makes better colored pencils (especially the long-barrelled ones), and there is plenty of competition these days, as well.

A note on nomenclature: according to company info., Binney & Smith(tm) changed its name to Crayola LLC on January 1, 2007.

I bought these for my adult coloring books. They are fine but the issue I have is that the name of the color is not printed on the pencil. There is a chart on the back of the box listing all of the colors, but they don't come in that order. They come all mixed up. It is impossible to tell what the color will actually be so you end up needing a scrap piece of paper so that you can try out the pencil before you use it on your project to make sure it's the right color. Also, my hands are small so I thought I wouldn't mind the short length, but I really don't like it. They are extremely uncomfortable after a while.

Although most of them worked find a few did not leave color at all. And my biggest pet peev was the fact they did not have the name of the color marked on the actual pencil. I would not buy this box again.
Other than that, the size was what I was looking for.
