This "door shield" lasted two minutes with my pitbull. It's basically a floppy piece of flimy plastic. The picture makes it look clear, but it's actually frosted, so it's a lot uglier than in the picture. You adhere it to the door with some 3M adhesive mounting squares (i.e., tape) (which are included). Perhaps this would prevent a very small dog from tearing up a door. Perhaps. My dog has separation anxiety and scratches at the door after I leave. I put it up, went to work, and when I came home it was in pieces on the floor. I read the directions and applied it correctly. It's just a worthless piece of flimsy plastic. Don't waste your money.

Installs very easily.

It does not appear to be extremely durable, so if you have large dogs that scratch your door I am not sure how good this will work. Our dogs are 17 and 26 pounds...and it seems to be fine with them.

The plastic door shield is a simple plastic sheet without any accessories or instructions for attaching to a door. The flimsy plastic lasted one night after my 14lb mutt-terrier got to it. You can purchase the same plastic sheet at a local hardware store for $5. Do not bother with this product, it's bogus.

We installed the protector after two weeks of sanding, painting and making sure the paint was completely dry. It has been up less than a week and already there are holes right through the vinyl. We have four dogs,three right at 10lb and one 19lb. To be fair, we have a panel door so some areas of the door are receded, But all in all, not a good purchase.

This is the second time I've ordered this product. The first one lasted 8 months with my two very active labs. It was easy to install and took alot of abuse. I can't imagine what my door would look like if I didn't use this on my patio door. I definitely recommend this product!

I put it up today and so far I love it. We put brand new doors in and didn't want the pup scratching on the new door to get in. The clear plastic comes with a film that you peel off after its installed. I thought another review said the stickies didn't work well but I think you need a very clean surface (obviously). Our brand new doors were the perfect surface. It comes with 9 approx 1"X1" stickies. I cut it down to about 30"x31", original is about 35"x35". For $12 I would totally buy again. It's an attractive solution.

I ordered 2 more to cover the other doors that my cat scratches. It is absolutely clear & comes with a "reminder sticker" on the side (film) that you are to peel off. If you don't pull that film off, it will look real cloudy. I can't believe I waited so long to get this. I guess because there were not very many reviews concerning cats. If you have a cat that scratches on your doors, order this.
