After having this recommended by everyone I talked to who used it, I ordered a can. First thing I tried it on was my jointer table. (cast iron)

I cleaned the table completely, rubbed it down with a Scotchbrite pad, cleaned that off with mineral spirits. The wax took even more dirt off as it was being rubbed in. I didn't expect that. The table never looked so good. No film left afterward to show fingerprints or smears. The wood pushed through afterwards acted like it was on a bed of Teflon. Amazing!

I next tried it on our Dining room table. So easy to use. Very little effort needed to buff it off. Way better than any paste wax I've ever used before. Amazingly, no fingerprints or smears whatsoever afterwards.

I don't know how long it will be before needing recoated yet, but so far I'm seriously impressed.

Also, athough the price is pretty high for the amount you get, the actual amount you need to use on any particular piece is almost insignificant. I figure this 200ml can will be able to be passed on to my kids. I can't tell looking into the can that I even used any of it, it is so efficient.

Having a couple of swords of collector's quality, I wanted to assure that they didn't get pitted by rust or other surface damage. For years I used a light oil to protect them with relative success. Recently, I read about Renaissance wax and decided to try it for myself. It is truly a great product! It provides a protective coat that doesn't get sticky (like the oil did) and a shine that the oil never could give. If you have anything of value that you want to protect, this is something you should try. Hey, if the museums housing royal antiquities use this, it is good enough for me.

Great stuff! I use it on photos to prevent color changes and finger prints, and it stops objects from sticking to latex-painted furniture, oh joy--I used it on my painted mantle shelf and the objects sitting on it no longer stick! I can't wait to repaint all my bookcases and protect both the books and the paint by applying a coat of this stuff to the shelves. I does have a slightly unpleasant odor, but it fades after a few days exposed to the air. It is worth the price!

I restore antiques.To do this I must use proper Finishes.On a barstow dresser shellac was original,and I mimicked a french rub with shellac.Although it is a beautiful result it has its flaws and breaks down with moisture rapidly.I used Renaissance wax as added protection and was 110.% satisfied with my results.I will always use Renaissance wax its worth every penny and more.Amazon is a great place to shop,with a great selection. OK, Let me explain what YOU need to do if you're sayin' to yourself "What the fudgeknuckels does that mean"??? Ever wax mom and dad's car cause you wanted somethin' real bad??

Buy yourself a 200ml can of RenWax.

Get ahold of a clean cotton t-shirt, white is the best for this application IMHO.

When you open this stuff it smells like Kiwi boot/shoe/leather polish.

A VERY SMALL amount of RenWax goes a LONG way!! I'm not kidding folks.

Apply the RenWax to your object of choice in a razor thin coat. Let it dry or rub it in until it dries, hence the movie quote, "Wax On, Wax Off".... I can promise you this, youre gonna love RenWax.

Everything Ive put it on looks 300% better than it did before, and my Natchez Bowie sheds water like a duck, but doesn't smell like a boot. RenWax will remove unseen surface "goop", and protect almost anything from rusting.

However, RenWax claims to stop fingerprinting, that I haven't experienced so far.

Maybe Ive got acidic digit superpowers, and I can vanquish my foes with just a touch....I usually take off stars in the rating if a product fails to perform on label specified tasks. Besides, if you use anything on a firearm that retards fingerprints, how would law enforcement ID the perp who snatched it??

EDIT: I'll dig up some old HC steel, lay on some EEZOX and RenWax, and update later.

Now go put the original "Karate Kid" in your DVD player....

I use this product on my collectible knives. It is quite pricey but you use so very little that it should last a long time. It preserves the integrity of the knife by sealing out moisture and minimizes fingerprints after touching the knife. I also sell knives and use it on them as well. Customers want to pick the knives up and check them out before they buy them. I got tired of wiping off fingerprints until this product came along and made my job alot easier. I also use it on my jewelry. No telltale residue....just a marvelous natural sheen.

I have a collection of 9 modestly priced functional (not just display) swords made of high-carbon steel from 1045 to 1075 that are susceptible to rust and pitting. Each sword arrived sufficiently oiled, but I searched for an alternative to oil that would require less maintenance.
I found Renaissance Wax via online recommendations. Ok, it does cost $30 here but a little goes a long way.
I have waxed (preserved) 9 swords with 3 coats, 2 Condor machete's, a handmade oak sword stand, a handmade oak mantle clock, a stainless steel carafe, a stainless steel high quality seltzer bottle and many of my wooden (oak and walnut) display creations.

The sheen is not real shiny, but the result does bring out the highlights of the item being treated.
I use cotton balls to apply the wax and after buffing and I see no metal residue after further applications on the ball, I give just one more coat.
After all the preserving I have done to date, I still have 80% remaining in the container.
