I have greyhounds, a breed notorious for their terrible teeth. In the past I have had to have their teeth cleaned at least once a year (with extractions) and even twice a year at times. I started using the Perio Support over a year ago, desperate for something to keep the dogs teeth cleaned that was easy to use. When the dogs went in for their physicals last month, my vet was stunned at how clean their teeth were! Neither of them need their teeth cleaned this year (a savings of hundreds of dollars). My vet wanted to know what I was using and is now going to start carrying it and recommending this product to other pet owners. I strongly encourage anyone out there to give this product a chance.

This product was recommended by my vet 6 months ago when my Cairn terrier had his dental done (a once a year occurrence). I have been using Perio-Support for 6 months now and last week we saw the vet for a checkup. I was totally happy when the vet said that there was only a slight bit of tarter and that the teeth and gums looked good! I had cut back on the amount of product I was putting on the dogs' food, slightly less than the 1 teaspoon she had recommended. The vet advised me to use the full 1 tsp and continue with the 2 times a day. Because my Cairn is hard-headed like a Cairn is....I am really unable to brush his teeth. So, Perio-Support is working wonders for me and my dog and is easy to administer. I also would like to sing the praises of Medi-Vet Animal Health. Their shipping is faster than lightning!

Some time ago when one of our dogs was at the vets for a physical, she said his gums looked very healthy. We’d discussed the use of a dental or periodontal support for his teeth in previous appointments and was all for the dental support I’d been using for some time. The ingredients of Perio-Support are identical to the ones in the product we are using now. I’m assuming the formula is not a patented one as the labeling is almost identical, save the logo and labeling. I’ve tried this on my two dogs with successful results, but my cat shunned this.

There are products you can put in your animal’s water, but because I have two dogs I passed. Does it work? Definitely. When I run out of my other dental support and haven’t had a chance to drive to purchase more, my small dog has noticeably bad breath within a few days. The product won’t remove all the plaque, but does keep it to a minimum and his gums remain healthy. Because he is an older dog and I’m leery of anesthetizing him for teeth cleaning, some sort of intervention is necessary.

Both dogs don’t mind the taste and didn’t shun it from the start. They simply wait until we sprinkle it over the top. I did question my veterinarian about the wisdom of putting the same amount of this powder on the food of the dog weighing 75 pounds as to the one weighing less than 8. She encouraged the same amount. The product’s the same, simply a different name. My veterinarian is all for this type of product and so am I. The only thing they may have thought to add was the little measuring scoop that was included with the other dental support I purchased. For consistency’s sake, I’d recommend getting a measuring spoon (1 tsp). My cat? No interest.Read more ›

I wish I took before and after pictures - this is amazing. Same stories as the others, my Norfolk terrier has horrible teeth, costing thousands of dollars in cleaning and extractions the last 11 years. When we opted to skip his scheduled $850 cleaning last fall (due to his age & cost), our vet sent us home with this. His teeth & gums have NEVER looked better! I tell all my friends with dogs about it. Had we started with this when he was young, who know's? I know that if we ever get another dog, this will be a staple from the beginning.

I have a small min pin whose teeth have needed to be cleaned two times in his short life already (4 years). I've been sprinkling this powder over his food for a year now. On his last visit to the vet she noticed tartar on his back teeth. She used a fingernail to try to remove some and she was surprised it came right off. I told her I was using the Perio-Support and she said that was why the tartar wasn't sticking. I do recommend this!

This was suggested to me by my vet for my cats. I only used 1/4 teaspoon instead of the 1 tsp recommended on the bottle mixed in their canned food at the evening meal. They didn't eat very well. The next morning 1 cat had a loose stool and then she vomited after she ate her breakfast. I only used it the one time. My vet said that I was the only one who had that result.
