Perhaps I'm not using or adjusting this correctly, but I am not wowed by this belt.. I thought this thing was going to be the end all of fighting belts: quick to adjust, good materials, thigh support, etc...however I can't get it to work well at all. I've used it on maybe 5 occasions now.. If I leave the straps loose enough that it lands on my thighs, when fighting a fish like a big amberjack the belt moves around a lot. If I tighten the straps more, it rides too high/doesn't sit right on my thighs. I believe these were designed to be used in tandem with their shoulder strap setup, and perhaps that's the disconnect. Maybe I'm missing something, I'm not a fighting belt expert...but this is my experience for whatever it's worth. Most times after using it I am left thinking that I wish I had just had one of those big rubber padded rod butt caps...

Make sure everyone has a belt, else they will be after yours.
Used it for fishing in the canyons off New Jersey. Nothing but positive. But don't forget it or you will have to use a back up.... And let me tell you... there's no comparison

I bought two belts and though this one was twice as expesive, it is also twice as nice. A good quality product, and can be used on rivers too.

It does the job. My husband had no complaints. He's 6 ft and 185 lbs and my brother in law is about 5'11 and 200 and they were both able to use it without issue.
