These soaps are just straight up soap. They have no weird additives or chemicals, are not antibacterial, and get you perfectly clean. My roommate says they are the only soaps which do not leave her itchy. Equally good to use as hand soap, body wash, and shampoo.

A bit of a strong citrus scent.

My dentist husband and his staff wash their hands many times during the workday so they are experts on hand soap. Over thirty years of practicing, we have purchased a variety of liquid soaps. Most were okay - some really awful. But the Sun and Earth Hypoallergenic Hand Soap with Aloe Vera is the best of the bunch. It easily rinses clean and contains no harsh chemicals which is important when you are covering your hands with synthetic exam gloves moments after a wash-up. Several of the other soaps we used left a residue and caused a rash to develop, probably because of the closed environment under the gloves. No such side effects occurred with this soap. Sun and Earth leaves our skin soft without a lingering fragrance which can offend some patients. We even use it in our powder rooms and have received a number of compliments from our patients. We try to use "green" products as much as possible and this one is a keeper.

My husband developed severe eczema on his hands, and I was tasked with finding a less harsh soap. This soap works so well that even I noticed a difference in my hands. The soap sudses well, has an almost sikly feel, rinses completely, and smells refreshingly like oranges. It is the only hand soap I buy now. Glad I found it.

This product used to be available in gallon size for a substantial discount. The new management repackaged the product in 16 oz. bottles for more money of course--business as usual rather than as earth friendly and helpful.

8-29-15. I knew when I saw the word "light" in the new description that they probably just added water and changed the graphics. . The previous recent formula was much thicker and more substantial, and I didn't need a viscosity meter to see the difference. If I needed it thinner I could have watered it down myself. I notice it is now available in gallon size. At least that's a step in the right direction. I hope it is at least half as good as its precedessor.

When Ivory stopped making hypoallergenic soap, I needed a replacement. This was one of my finds. It's inexpensive and contains no allergens. These are the refills; they come in a six-pack and each bottle fills the pump close to three times. When I use the pump, there is no dripping onto the sink or dish. All-in-all, a good replacement for the old and no-longer--missed Ivory.
