To add more detail on size, as others have stated, these are not relatively thick. I can bend these easily--as I often do--so the dogs have an easier way to hold them while chewing. These are exactly what I need. They are not card stock or paper thin as some grocery store assortments, but they are also not 1/4" thick.

I would say these are perfect for dogs between 10 and 30 pounds. If you have a large breed, they might finish one of these rather quickly.

Although I will continue to purchase this product I can only give it 4 stars because many of the chips are thin; too many almost paper thin and translucent. There are very few that are actually "thick" as advertised.

After research and discovering how these types of products can be loaded with dangerous chemicals when processed overseas, as so many are, I was glad to find a product that is safe for my dog. I spoke to one manufacturer in the US who had them made overseas and claimed the process was closely monitored by him. I can't help but wonder how accurate that could be particularly since they were made in China which has a dismal safety record on all fronts. I question how he can monitor the manufacturing process so closely from the US, as he stated. He was somewhat indignant at my questioning. He could have been completely above board and he made his case but I decided his Chinese product wasn't worth the gamble.

I have recommend these as safe but they fall short of being thick. It is truly a false blanket statement about the product and a disappointment. Other than that, your dog will probably love them and that's the point... right?!

The photo is misleading. These are very thin chips - not thick at all. And half the bag is filled with chips so thin they are translucent. Very disappointed as I really wanted to get my German Shepherd some nice thick chips, even it meant there were less in the bag. Both my dogs enjoyed them, but I was simply not happy with the thinness. I am glad they are manufactured in the US, and that is the only thing that saves the rating from being less than 3 stars.

The sizes of rawhide chips vary greatly and there is no consistency, which leads me to question the quality of the processing. Some of the chips are so small I'm not comfortable giving them to my 75 pound dog, even though the label on the bag shows "large" size. The thickness is also not consistent. Some are so thin you can literally see through them, while others are ten times that thickness. You would think a product made in the USA would have better quality control. I give it three stars because of course my dog loves them, and the fact that they are USA made and not from China. I'm attaching a photo...all chips pictured are from the same bag. I've purchased the 1 lb size in the past and those chips were consistent in size and thickness, but those are now too small for my dog.

This bag of rawhides contained a wide variety of sizes and thicknesses, but I actually found that to be a good thing. Sometimes I like to give my dog several of the smaller chews throughout the day as rewards, and at other times I need to keep him occupied for a while so will select a thicker piece. He sometimes rejects other brands of rawhide, but LOVES these. Also, it's great that they're made in the USA!

Very disappointing. Filled with little shreds of rawhide, some mid-size (for a teacup sized dog) pieces and a few good size pieces, but the majority are way too small for me to trust with my Shelties unattended. All of the pieces are very thin, some so thin you can see through them. Don't trust these with any dog over 10 pounds!

If you have smaller dogs, like my cairn terries, these are great. They are non-offensive so if you have dogs who have long muzzle hair, then it doesn't make a horrible mess like pig ears and other chews do. My little girl terrier loves to carry them around the house and hide them here and there, so being non-offensive and very clean pieces of rawhide, its ok if she hides one somewhere I don't find it for a while. Not oily, not greasy at all and don't attract ants or other insects.
