I do think that with exercise, and some reasonable (though not fanatical) attention to diet, that these things help with bodyfat control. Nope, I don't have any kind of rack of scientific instruments to prove that, but I've taken one of these in the morning, and one at night for a few months and dropped a couple of percent. Nope, they are not the complete cause of this drop, but I believe they help, there is some decent research behind them, and I feel good. Call me a fool, but that's good enough for me and I intend to stay on these.
I like NOW's products, and this is a good price.

Seriously.
I took the product for two weeks, using one capsule 3x a day spaced out.
By the second day I noticed a remarkable ammonia odor in my urine. I hoped that the smell would subside as my body adjusted to the product; it didn't.
I tried L-Carnitine because a friend swore it helped her lost weight; it didn't work for me.

I've been satisfied when using other products by this brand, so I don't attribute this failure to the company.
Perhaps L-Carnitine works for issues other than weight loss.
