Most of the Echinacea on the market consist of flower parts and stems, which have the least amount of the beneficial ingredients you buy Echinacea for. The "now" product uses the root which is much harder to find when you check the ingredient list on other manufacturers. I believe this is why many people do no see the results one hopes for when using Echinacea. This product has been the best I've used and the cost to benefit ratio can't be beat, in my estimation. "Now" also makes a "Dry E" which is Tocopheryl Succinate, another hard to find product whose benefits are backed by quite a bit of research. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for high quality Echinacea at a reasonable price.

Whenever I feel a cold coming on I take 2 capsules 3-4 times a day until the symptoms go away. I have used Zicam in the past but the cold would always come back as soon as I stopped taking it. The Echinacea seems to nip it in the bud. Usually I'll take it for two days before the cold is gone. Sometimes I'll take along with Vitamin C and fresh garlic. This plus rest and lots of fluids makes the cold go away. I'll definitely be keeping this stuff in my medicine cabinet from now on.

This is the BEST Echinacea I have tried (and I have tried a LOT of them)!
I don't use NOW Foods exclusively for all of my supplement products, BUT they do make the very best Echinacea.
Also, I would recommend you get this instead of their liquid extract version. For some reason, this dry form seems to work better for me.
Be advised that you do need to take very large quantities of ANY Echinacea product to get the very best benefit from it (especially if you waited until you got sick to start taking it)!

This is a good cheap alternative to over priced drug store versions. I reach for this first before the "nitequil" or cold meds at the first sign of a cold, or when those around me are sick. Keeps your immune system up and boosts when you are not 100%. I only use it 2-3 caps 2 -3 times a day for a few days only when feeling like I might get sick or to avoid the bug that everyone else is fighting, that and extra Vit C doses does the trick almost every time, or at least shortens the time down.

This product has meet my expectations. It appears to work as a natural anti-biotic (my opinion only). I was told to take it whenever coming home from the mall, or when I felt like something may be coming on. I woke up one morning an noticed a nasty bite on my knee. Since I had been bitten by a brown recluse before I recognized the wound. I Googled for treatment options again, since antibiotics, steroids, antihistamines, first aid cremes are useless, and doctors and ER's don't have any answers for the injected enzymes that eat away flesh. This Echinacea was one suggested treatment so I ordered some. Since this was not a Prime sale I had to wait a few days for delivery [when are those drones coming?] In the meantime I needed something to treat this wound NOW as the last time, bitten on the hip, it was extremely painful for weeks mainly if I rolled on my side to sleep. Thankfully it eventually went away and did not eat it way to the bone.
One of the other suggested remedy's was to use Bentonite clay as a natural absorbent to pull the poison out of the wound. I knew the FRESH STEP kitty litter I have is mostly Bentonite and figured the odor crystals couldn't hurt, I mixed some into a paste and put some on the bite, covering it with with a gauze pad and tape. When I changed the dressing that night the bite was full of pus and had the telltale hole where the enzyme poison was doing it thing. However, it looked to me like the clay was pulling the poison to the surface and not letting it spread deeper. I changed the dressing daily with a new "plaster" each time. About three days later
the Echinacea arrived and I opened a capsule and mixed some of it with the clay. In less than a week it was completely healed and each day I could see much improvement. "Your mileage may vary" but I thought I'd pass this along!

Best echinecea supplement I've ever tried. I can definitely tell it's used with the most effecaceous parts of the plant -- instead of having to take three or four pills to see a minimal effect, I can take one, and maybe another one later on in the day, and feel better.

As such, it may be twice the price as the really cheap brands, but it's DEFINITELY worth it, because it has double the potency (and possibly more than that).

Echinacea is the best thing for preventing and recovering quickly from illness. I've been using it as a supplement for years whenever I was sick, and I only recently started taking one pill every day to prevent getting sick entirely. So far, it seems to work very well.
