I aleays thought Inhad a problem with anxiety. Never thought much f it but it was always there, nothing major but always there, hanging. At some point I started paying more and more attention to it and I realized that it was a problem for me (sweating excesively before meetings, even pleasant ones, meeting new people, etc.) and one day I was looking at a TV commercial (PBS) and there was one Dr. Talking about the different ADD types and one of them fit my "situation" (overthinking things, keep with the same thought for days or months, constanly being concerned over stupid thing, etc) and I started looking what they would recommend to take to manage this situation and found this Gaba thing (i don't like to take medicins at all) and bought a bottle of it. I started taking one pill, then two pills until I felt that tingling feeling and then went back to two pills a day (in the mornings with an empty stomach) I kept taking them without paying too much attention to it abd then one day I realized that I was happy, I know, it sounds stupid, but to me that doesn't happen that often and without reason, I was just happy, great days! I was kind of curious and I stop taking the pills....after a couple of days, the old me came back, every little problem was huge in my head so I went back to the pills again.....happy again....coincidence? I repeated the same thing several times just to be positive about this and now I KNOW when I don't take them, the wife bring them to me immediately in the mornings. I've read about the blood brain barrier and I know that some people said that this does NOT cross it, mine has to be broken or something because this thing is making a difference in my life, not sure why but I would LOVE to know why.

The fact that GABA does not cross the blood- brain barrier does not stop it from effecting the enteric nervous system in the gut, where 90% of serotonin receptors are located, which is why many people with gut problems and depression/ anxiety find it so helpful. There is fascinating new research on the enteric nervous system that some people, who are railing against GABA and saying it should have no effect because of the blood- brain barrier issue, need to catch up on.

I wanted to wait for a while before posting a review. I can honestly say I felt the effects within 15min of taking one. I was instantly calmed down lol. I have two autistic children ages four and six and I'm constantly stressed so to feel the affects almost immediately was a huge plus. However, after a week those effects (peaceful feeling) wore off (and they never did relax me enough to help me sleep at night). So why the five stars? Because Gaba did something that I wasn't expecting and that's take away the nervous tention that I've had since I was four years old (I'm 35). For over 30 years I've suffered from anxiety attacks and social anxiety due to an abusive childhood and stressful environment. I've used prescribed medication in the past and it never really worked or it would work for a week or two and then stop. Gaba has been different, I'm nearly finished with the bottle and it's still working. To be able to freely go out in public without any anxiety....words cannot explain the feeling and anyone who suffers from anxiety and then to be free knows what I'm talking about. One reviewer stated that Gaba gives you what your body may be lacking and if your body doesn't need it then it won't have any affect on you. I think that could be true. Everyone is different so all I can say is it's been a blessing in my life and it's worth a try. The only way you'll ever be able to know of it's right for yourself or loved one is to just try it.

This is the best place to buy a lot of GABA and at the best price. I used to have horrible physically painful anxiety before. When I started taking GABA, I immediately felt relief. It's not like it takes away all your anxiety and makes you completely emotionless, it just takes your anxiety to a normal level. I feel like this is how I am supposed to feel. I take one pill in the morning when I get up and one pill in the evening. I took GABA for about a month, and then I stopped for a few weeks and after about two weeks of not taking GABA I started to feel horrible again. So I started taking GABA again and once again I felt better. So I am definitely going to continue to take GABA, probably for the rest of my life. I am now able to function like a normal person and not have this horrible pain that the anxiety used to cause. I also used to have heart palpitations (which I believe were caused by anxiety) which I no longer have since I started taking GABA. There is one weird side effect which happens if I take GABA without eating first. I have about one minute of needing to breathe heavily and a there is a strong rush of blood through my body. It is almost like this huge adrenaline rush, but out of place because I am just sitting there and nothing is actually happening. I have become used to this and I am perfectly fine with trading one or two minutes of my day to focus on my breathing when this happens in order to enjoy the rest of my 24 hours!!!
