I tried using this boot jack to remove several different pairs of riding boots. It doesn't even begin to work. My feet are a women's size 10 (men's size 9), so any standard boot jack should work. The "antennae" that are supposed to grip your boots angle out too quickly and are also very short, so they can't actually grip the boot. Instead the boot just slides forward out of the jack. The product is much smaller than it looks in the photo, so the heel of the boot is only being gripped by the part of the jack that curves outward. Although this is cute and well made, I would stick to the standard wooden, leather-covered, jack. I have also tried the plastic variety and they work, but will break if used by boots that are difficult to remove. The wooden jack is both durable and functional. Since they are also cheap, why buy anything else? In any case, this would make a good door stop, but not much else.

There is just enough room between the antennae for my husband to pry off his wellies but I'm not sure it would work with winter boots for him. I don't have an issue with the size of the opening but it is a bit short in length to use gracefully. End to end it measures about 9 1/2 inches. Mine is not the color in the picture but rather solid black. It's not a deal breaker since the item is for function. It is also not as high in detail as depicted but still cute. For reference the photo contains my husbands 11.5 sized shoe. I don't mind that it's small since I keep mine inside the back door but if you are expecting a larger jack it might disappoint.

My disclaimer: I paid full price for this boot jack and haven't received any benefit from the seller.

Bought this to help remove my new LaCrosse snake boots. Notorious for their difficult removal, I'm glad I purchased the Beetle.

First off the one i received is a glossy black, not the one pictured on site. Not a biggy but one star off.

I have been breaking my LaCrosses in for a couple of days, trying single and dual sock combos seeing what feels the best which means I've been taking them off a lot. This boot jack has saved me from having to bug my wife for boot removal assistance, a big plus for both of us.

Gave it 3 stars because it's cute...it's not functional, doesn't really work as a boot jack because it's too short. Secondly, the paint smell was overwhelming. We're going to strip it off and repaint it ourselves, not worth sending back. If nothing else, it makes a cute door stop!

we have a sheep farm in oregon, which means that 3/4 of the year we have 50 acres of MUD. getting our boots off has been a giant pain for years, involving much grunting and groaning, straining and cursing, and VERY muddy hands. finally I had enough of it, and ordered this boot jack hoping it would make things a little easier.

I am not just happy with it, I'm flat-out astonished! it truly does work like magic, we can slip our muddy boots off with no effort at all, cutting down on the general level of farm griping considerably. we love it so much, I'm ordering another, so we'll have one near each door.

there may be other boot jacks that work this well, but I guarantee none look this cool while getting the job done!

I like this. I'm in the Army and wear boots daily. This thing is a Godsend some days. Unlace my boots, put one foot on the beetle's back and stick the other heel between the antennae, pull and - like magic - the boot comes off. Switch and repeat. I can leave them on my porch and life is good. There's a small hole in the beetle's butt (you can make it out in this picture). I think this is to fasten the beetle to a wooden floor or plank to keep it from getting kicked around, and although I haven't used it for that I see the utility of it. An olde design that still works today.

I bought a pair of knee-high riding style boots that are quite fitted and I was struggling to pull them off at the end of the day. This boot jack did the trick! It's so simple to use and I can pull my boots off by myself.

If your boots do not have zippers, getting one of these is the way to go. It's less painful/time consuming to get them off and it does not ruin the shoes.

I love this boot jack. I read other reviews about this product and another that looked the same from another seller. I was concerned about complaints of the size and quality. My beetle came shipped in a bag inside a box without any packing material. This was strange, but the beetle was fine. I was pleased with the size and weight. I tried the beetle out with some tight work boots and they passed the test. I only wish the beetle had some rubber on the feet so I could use it in the tiled locker room.
