It DOES have the plastic pump cover as shown in my picture, even though the picture in the ad doesn't show this. I ordered the Sierra 18-3392 from this exact site for my 1979 Johnson 85hp V4. Everything fit EXCEPT the impeller itself. It would not fit over the drive shaft with out resorting to a big hammer, (which I DIDN'T) and I could not use the impeller. I went to a local boating supply shop here in the Seattle area that sold these kits over the counter, and tried a second Sierra impeller of the same part number, and it had the exact same problem - too small to fit over the shaft. Frustrated, I went to a Johnson/Evinrude dealer and got an OEM impeller - not the entire kit. It fit perfectly and slid onto the shaft as it should. It was sufficiently snug, but it was not necessary to hammer it on like the Sierra parts would have required. I'm very disappointed that two different Sierra impellers didn't fit, and had to buy a Johnson/Evinrude impeller at a significantly higher price - $45 just for the impeller. I left the Sierra impeller with the dealer since they work the Sierra rep, and they will report my problem.
Some notes - I used emery paper to clean and smooth the shaft before trying to fit the Sierra impeller with no success. It was smooth and free of ridges, etc that would have prevented the Sierra impeller to slide on properly. Since I tried two of the same Sierra impellers and they both would not fit, and the OEM impeller fit perfectly, I can only conclude that the Sierra parts were not machined properly, and were a few thousands of an inch out of tolerance. The Johnson/Evinrude dealer mentioned that he has heard of other Sierra parts having tolerance problems, but didn't think it was a widespread problem across all their parts.
