they are tapered and have a lip, and thus the bottom dimensions are not the same as the ones given in the description. Now they just sit in my closet waiting for me to find some use for them, because they are too small for the purpose for which i bought them. i cant comment on their quality or sturdiness as i havent used them yet.

It looks good but is kind of fragile. I have 2 - one to. keep bananas and one for onions. But realised it could break if I don't hold it carefully. But to keep in one place and not move around, it's a good buy.
