Right on the cover of the installation manual, item #1(!) includes text and an illustration informing the owner that this unit MUST be installed with a rearward slope. Following this simple instruction will prevent any water issues. Please don't damage your A/C by drilling holes in it. I've owned a very similar model for about five years, but am happy to report that this current model (which I've installed in another room) is even better: nice controls, strong fan and cooling capability, and quiet.

They need to mention in the product description that it is 220 volts and will not work in a standard three prong 110 volt outlet.

I bought this A/C for a very large room last summer. I wanted something that would really keep things cool and dehumidified. I considered getting a 12,000 BTU but now that I have this 10,000 BTU unit I am more than satisfied! It really does the trick and I haven't had any problems with it. The settings are really convenient as well. As far as water issues go, all A/Cs generate some water from the process of condensing air. As a previous reviewer mentioned, if it's installed on a slight downhill slope (as is standard with A/Cs), it's no problem at all. I might add that I've moved a few times and owned/tried 4 other A/Cs in the past 12 months and this one by far has given me the best results. Hope this helps.
