The Hardrock also works well on rugged dayhikes or fastpacking adventures. A full-length TPU plate protects your foot from trail debris, and the shoe's multidirectional lugs give you added stability on those extra rough sections. Montrail updated the Hardrock this year with a Gryptonite sole for maximum traction in wet and dry conditions.
