I think the point is to avoid or reduce using cleanser or caustic cleaners on the sink itself, so that the enamel remains perfect. Well, I do get a mild charge out of using this stainless steel rack, but the fact is, it took over 50 years of use to erode the enamel from my previous Kohler sink. Just thought you'd like to know...

UPDATE, TWO MONTHS LATER ===> The stainless steel rack is very handy and useful when washing or rinsing dishes and whatever... the rack itself can keep stuff that's washed aside, away from unwashed stuff, out of the way until its time to rinse everything. You know what I mean... it's a class addition to the sink, perfect construction and design, worth the price indeed, and as stated originally will protect the enamel from early erosion and scratches.

I purchased this size even though my sink would have fit the next larger size. I was being cheap & wanted to save a couple bucks. But I am so glad I did! This sink protector is dishwasher safe. And at this size, it actually fits on the bottom rack of my dishwasher. I throw it in there once a week which keeps it nice and clean so the wires don't get all gunky. Yes, you could scrub it by hand, but the dishwasher is very convenient.
Also, it looks good & does its job.

This was a replacement for a replacement! And - quite frankly - I love the stainless steel version, as opposed to color match. Our old rack was fine - except where the color had been chipped off during normal sink usage.
It is an excellent product and I expect to have the same longevity that I have had with the other racks (last one is still in use in the laundry room!).

Great quality, perfect fit, sits nicely in my sink, and does the job it is intended to do. It works great as a in-sink drying rack if you need to leave a cup or other small kitchen objects in the sink overnight. The feet protect my sink even further. Fits my sink perfectly and the vertical cross wires are on top of the horizontal ones, allowing me to prop up dishes to drip dry without them sliding. This is the first rack I've found that has this feature and it is well-appreciated!!

I have been using the vinyl clad grids for bottom of sink for years. The vinyl sink mats did not last and had to be replaced. Wish I discovered the stainless steel version earlier. Food doesn't get trapped under the mat like the vinyl sink mats. Wish it was about 2 inches longer. I have a Kohler sink and Kohler doesn't seem to make one that fits this single bowl kitchen sink, however this is a minor complaint.

I originally saw this in a friend's newly renovated kitchen which was custom-made for her sink. I looked in hardware stores like Home Depot and Lowe's since we don't have too many options here and couldn't find anything similar. I was using those plastic sink covers and had to replace them every so often. I wanted to protect my investment and didn't want to tear up my beautiful granite counter top just to replace the sink because of normal wear and tear. I was surprised to find it on Amazon and was a bit skeptical ordering it. Glad I did because it fits perfectly and does the job!
