This inverter has worked very well for me. I saw th negative review saying that it needs to have changeable fuses but I have no idea why you would need them. I have accidently overloaded this inverter a few times and the inverter simply goes into an overload protection and then resets. The reason I went with this inverter is because I have a friend with a fleet of 30 vehicles using the same GPSW-1000-12 inverter. They use the inverter for charging cordless tools and running a laptop and I have not heard of a single issue with any of his inverters.

Verified Purchase
The go power inverter is a mid price true sine wave inverter. It's fuses can't be replaced. They so far have had a high failure rate.
They have replaced them under warranty but it's a slow process.

Do yourself a favor and put some more money with the purchase price and get a Xantrax true sine 1000 inverter.

It's more money but it's a WAY better inverter.

We are sorry that you have had a negative experience with our products. Are you able to elaborate on what happened that required you to replace the internal fuses. The internal fuses protect the inverter in the event that batteries are connected to the inverter backwards (reversed polarity). We do not feel your comment about Go Power! having a high failure rate is fair. We would like to know what you based this comment on? We have in fact seen very few faulty units across our entire line up of power inverters. We are also concerned that you experienced a long warranty cycle. We typically like to have the warranty process finished the same day that you call or email us. We do not experience a large number of warranty claims so this process should be quick and simple. Many times we are able to trouble shoot the problem over the phone and you may not even need to return the product at all. Again we are very sorry that you had this negative experience with one of our products.

Not impressed...Go Power clearly states on the outside of their box "115 volt output" for this unit. However, the actual output for my new unit was only 108.17 volts. The Go Power customer service rep. told me that it's plus or minus 3%. Even with that, it still shouldn't be any lower than 111.55 volts. Then they told me it was only suppose to put out 110 volts. My wall output is 120 volts and they told me before I bought it that this pure sine wave inverter was "exactly" like my house current. Only the 2000 and 3000 models can have voltage adjusted up or down 5 volts or 10 volts with a pair of small switches inside the units.

Hello Jim,

The inverter has internal DIP switches where you can adjust the AC output voltage to 120VAC.

Please have a look at page 23 in the user manual - http://gpelectric.com/files/gpelectric/Docs/Manuals/Go_Power_MAN_GP_SW1000_2000_3000.pdf

We do not recommend this unit AT ALL!! We purchased this unit and had it installed by a professional marine shop. The second time we used it the GFCI plug would no longer work. It would blink the light on the plug and would not reset itself. We were in contact with the Manufacture "GoPower," because this was supposed to come with a 2 Year warranty......THEY STOPPED RESPONDING TO MY EMAILS when i told them i needed to return it. So i have had this item for 2 months used it twice and now I'm out over a $1000.00. I might as well use this for a boat anchor, because that is all it good for.

Here are the emails between my self and "Adam" at Carmanah (gpelectric dot com) BUYER BEWARE!:

ME: We purchased a 3000W(Same Product different wattage) Inverter from Amazon in February this year(2014) and after only 2 times of using this the GFI plug no longer works and will not reset which makes the whole inverter useless....Please tell me how i can get a replacement. Thanks

Adam: Can you please let me know what appliances you were trying to run off of the inverter?

Me: A DC air conditioner and a coffee pot.....

Adam: Can you please confirm that the air conditioner is a DC unit?
If so it would require an inverter to run it if not if it is run on AC can you please send me the specs on the air conditioner unit?

Me: MSBA Micra, 6000 Btu Self Contained DC Marine Air Conditioner
what happened was it would not run the AC.....so i wanted to test if it was working at all.......i plugged the coffee pot in.....and both the AC kicked on and the coffee pot started working(Very Strange)......Am i too assume that since the AC is connected directly(Not Plugged)... then i plugged the coffee pot in it completed the circuit????

Hello CookWareKing,

This review seems to be for the GP-SW3000-12. Did you have a GP-SW1000 question?

It seems like there's been some miscommunication. Your AC might have a bonded neutral which would trip the GFCI on the inverter.

We would be interested in chatting with you further to resolve this situation. Please go to our website - http://gpelectric.com/contact-us - and call or email us.
