I was looking for something inexpensive, yet attractive, with the idea of hanging them from trees for illumination.

The door on these is two panels wide, meaning the entire width is accessible - It will accept a 15.25 ounce Tostino salsa jar, or it will accept that squarish bottle Starbucks sells frappucino in at the walmart. I was particularly interested in it accepting a jar as I want to retrofit these to use some 5 watt 12-volt DC "corncob" LED lights, but I want to install the LED in a jar for waterproofing. These moroccan lamps were never designed to keep water out, as they are designed for venting candles. This is part of a little "craft" project to hang lights from tree branches, but not have a shock or fire hazard. I did not find any lamps like I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. These look attractive, so I decided to retrofit them to take some 12 volt LED's. At less than $10/ea, I liked them because I could get several matching ones, and not get terribly upset if the kids broke one.

These lamps are reasonably sturdy, made from stamped steel sheet. Not welded, but held together by bent tabs and pins in the steel. Plain glass panels - no bevels, engraving, or fancy stuff. I definitely wanted glass because most plastics do not weather well. This is the kind of fare you would expect from inexpensive import stores. It would definitely work great for a candle, too; the floor is a flat steel plate, and its glass walls and vented top will keep things from falling in the flame and igniting, and the door is wide enough you can get a fat candle in it.

I was not disappointed. I will see how my little retrofit works out, and if it does, I will probably order more.

I was slightly nervous to purchase such in inexpensive lanterns, but they greatly succeeded my expectations. They look wonderful! I am using them to decorate a tall fireplace with candles inside of them. I hung 4 of them from the ceiling so they are at alternating heights above the mantle. They are not heavy or probably very durable but for something that looks really nice and won't be messed with too often, they are perfect.

I had been shopping for lanterns to hang on patio for months. Nothing really jumped out. I figured for the money there was nothing to lose buying these to try. They look surprisingly great! One caveat, one lantern was a little bent so that there was a gap when you closed the door. I was initially upset but was able to pry it into place. Which for such a deal I didn't mind. I put battery powered candles in them and guests like them. Success!

Nice product for the price. Several of the glass panels were broken when they arrived. Seller indicated we could ship product back and they would replace. This would have been fairly pricy, so instead we went to the local picture frame dealer (craft store) and they were able to cut glass panels that were a perfect fit for only a couple of dollars. (We purchased 9 of these, and 2 had broken glass.)

Although the delivery was made in a timely manner, the quality of the candleholder is poor. It's made of flimsy light gauge metal and is very poorly constructed.

I would not recommend it to a friend.

I purchased several miscellaneous Moroccon lamps as decoration. I found this to be well made, I did replace the glass in it with some colored glass and found this easy to do as the glass is securely held in with tabs and it really shines nicely!

The lantern was really pretty, but unfortunately, the frame arrived bent to such a degree that I couldn't fix it, though I did try. The glass and metal door wouldn't close, among other things. I really wanted to keep it, so I turned the worst of the distortion to face the wall, but it's glass, so I could still see the open door and bent frame. I ended up returning it.
