Here's how I fell into this toilet seat... I have two Mayfair round-bowl toilets. I believe Bemis Manufacturing owns Mayfair. Anyway, I just ordered one Luxe Bidet Vi-110 for our upstairs can along with this round Bemis open-front seat. Since the Amazon pic of this Bemis seat isn't that good, I accidentally ordered a "bone" colored seat thinking it would be slightly off-white like our two toilets. Well, turns out bone is actually light tan (like it's been dunked in light coffee). So don't make this same mistake, Get white if your porcelain is any shade of white.

About the return... Amazon instantly said "keep the seat, we DON'T want it back, and we'll credit your account". VERY COOL OF THEM! So now I just need to reorder the white seat. (the Bidet is awesome and is only $35. It's easy to hook up, too. try it!).

GUY COMMENTARY ON ROUND TOILETS... (like you really need to hear this s***).
Dudes, if you've been cursed with a round toilet in your home due to a bathroom space issue, or your wife picked it out at Home Depot, then I'm sure you quickly found out that women don't know crap about toilets. Round toilets are for children (and maybe for women, I don't know or care). What I do know is they are uncomfortable and messy at best for adult male anatomy.

If ya ask me, elongated toilets, especially handicapped-height toilets, are the ONLY way an adult male can be comfortable whilst taking care of dual businesses. It's obvious that the engineers over at Uranus Corp. who designed the round porcelain crapper that we've all come to accept figured a way to take its male-unfriendly design a step further.... with an enclosed plastic seat that has a tiny void underneath it which almost ensures a wet floor or opposing wall.Read more ›

Broke due to no under side support in less than 2 weeks after install. Buy the added stick on supports to give this seat 4 supports in lieu of the 2 it comes with and you will have a great product for the money. We needed immediate replacement and were forced to buy plastic replacement at 3 times the money. Wish I bought the extra supports!!! This seat is well worth the $$ with the xtra supports to prevent breaking. Hummmmmmmmmmm now why doesn't the mfg do this???

These are excellent seats. We have them in every bathroom. A word of warning, however: This is a molded wood product, which means it's not cut from wood, but manufactured from compressed wood shavings. We added extra bumpers to the underside of the seat, just to be sure it was well-supported all the way around. We did this based on a reviewer's comment that her seat broke because of a lack of underside support.

The finish of this seat is very high gloss and durable. The bone color goes well with our fixtures, and the extreme durability of the hinge and attachment assembly keep it firmly in place. No more slipping, sliding seat or constantly tightening the attachment bolts. Another feature we like is that the bolts slide through the attachment from the top and they have screwdriver slots in them, so they can be tightened enough to stay in place.

This is a very heavy, well-made seat. We're happy!

Matches my "bone" colored toilet perfectly. It also covers the whole bowl perfectly when the cover is down, whereas my previous toilet seat left the very top of the bowl near the hinges exposed. Seems sturdy and high quality. It's worth noting that the seat is "C" shaped (gap in front), not "O" shaped, if you happen to have a preference.

My only complaint is that the shipper (Remodelr) did not include an invoice or installation instructions. To be fair, the installation was simple, except for opening up the plastic hinges in order to insert the screw. They were VERY difficult to pry open. I was worried I'd break them off or warp the plastic. I recommend sliding a butter knife into it and popping it open that way, since it exerts even pressure, instead of prying the sides. The box it came in (inside the UPS box) also arrived ripped, but that's fine.

If you are a man, with a significant distance between your coccyx and your man parts, this is the toilet seat for you. Hi! I'm not Billy Mays! Get a seat that's smart for your parts, and cut the stuffin' down to nothin'. You might expect to pay $100 for a seat like this, but if you act now, you can get a seat that's a treat for your m__t, for less than $15! And that's not all. The seat includes the necessary hardware for easy installation. You'll wonder why you ever used a standard seat.

One of the first things you should do when moving into a new apartment is replace the toilet seat- it's a simple and inexpensive endeavor that goes a long way. I've done this with every apartment that I've occupied in the last 8 years (which, as a traveler, is a lot more than you think). Usually I get the basic Kohler seat but this time, I don't know, I was feeling spontaneous and living life on the edge (traveller remember) so I went with the Bemis. My posterior is hard pressed (get it?) to find a noticeable difference. I am however deducting 1 store because my seat has some odd bubbling near the front. It's entirely aesthetic but if I were a more caring person.. I would care more.
