Eden Brent's debut is a great addition if you're looking for classic boogie woogie piano. Eden can play a mean piano and knows how to belt out a tune. The songs are well written (many written by her and her mother).

I met Eden Brent's muse "Boogaloo" Ames and loved his music over 20 years ago. But I did not know of Eden until I moved home to the Delta in 1993. She grew up 45 miles down the road and several decades after me. Now she
can be known and her music enjoyed by everyone! I bought "Mississippi
Number One" today and took it back to work with me. I have listened to
the whole thing over and over all day long and have shared it with my co-
workers (some of whom already knew the fried chicken song)!Treat yourself to some "Fried Chicken" while you ride up Highway 1 with Eden Brent as your host! You need to buy this album!! Great job, Eden! When's your next one due out?!

Eden lives in my hometown, Greenville, Mississippi. She represents
the presence of the blues as she is recognized as Little Boogaloo
of the Mississippi Delta. She recognizes her home in literal directions
on the highways to towns she identifies in her lyrics. It is like a map,
only given with her voice and piano.
Thank you, Eden! You and your sisters, Jessica and Bronwynne, make us so
very proud of your song writing Mother who is seeing your accomplishments
from her place in heaven. Her influence on your life is soundly, pun intended,
heard in lyrics and music as you sing, Mississippi Number One!

From beginning to end this is an album of the blues. Every song is either good or great. Eden has a near perfect blues voice, a savvy delivery and great piano playing. If you like the blues you cannot help but like this album.

This CD is blues the way they're meant to be played. Eden is a knockout pianist, and her singing leaves no doubt - she inherited the tradition. She plays in the style you know and love, but all in her own way. You've never heard anyone quite like her. There are a few standards in here which have been done so often, but Eden pulls off an interpretation you haven't heard before and it makes you forget the ones you did hear. If you like blues, you need this CD. If you're not sure, this one will seal the deal. Get it!
